Sometimes we would wear eye shadow when I was in the Army, but it was called camouflage.
But he never realized his dream. Dishonorably discharged, he kept his shame secret and went on to become a senator and then President of the United States...
My 67 Drill Sergeant probably would have knocked him up aside his head.
The military is about “fairness” now.
How pathetic.
its nice to fit in your goals while you're preparing to protect and perhaps kill people, but that is not your main job...
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Forty-two twelve, basic military journalism. You gotta be sh***ing me! You think you're Mickey Spillane? You think you're some kind of f***ing writer?
I consider hg’s comments to be a recommendation to check out another Conservative site. The more the better! So you got a hit from me.
There are a lot of military jobs that translate well to the civilian world and it’s nice that the military gives people additional training in something they can succeed in as a civilian. There’s nothing worse than doing great things for your country, such as blowing things up, killing the enemy or diving into the sea to recover things and then getting out of the service and finding that your skills aren’t readily transferable. So you end up depressed and working some menial job and missing your buddies on active duty.
Why wouldn’t you post the entire text of your post here. Just cut and paste. People do the vanity stuff all of the time. It’s not like your daily blog is updated monthly...let alone daily.
I am not knocking your desire to express your feelings. I appreciate that. But you are either committed or not. If you are only going to do it once a month or so...why not just post the vanity?
Saves ya a lot of grief.
The eyeshadow is a nice touch. /s
No draft and fewer and fewer young men feel any obligation to serve. This is what you end up with.
LOL. Humble-gunner got the ZOT!
We have an all-volunteer military. Some join for patriotism, some for money, some for an education, some for thrills.
I thank them all.
“Now there’s a man with a PLAN!”
It’s more of that inane “212 ways to be an Army of one” thing they tried before. Marines push honor and badassery, the Navy makes you think everyone’s a SEAL or a fighter pilot, and the Army keeps saying, “Hey, guys, look at all the really neat-o jobs we have here!”
Drives me nuts.
