KINGSTON, Jamaica — US attorney Jasmine Rand said that Trayvon Martin’s accused killer George Zimmerman was acquitted because the victim was black.
Speaking at press conference in Kingston on Monday, Rand, who represented the interests of Martin’s relatives in the case, said Zimmerman was set free because of where the incident happened.
“Trayvon Martin was shot because he was black. Zimmerman got away because he (Martin) was black. I think the case was lost because the jury selection was not done properly and the area where the trial took place,” Rand said.
The law professor is in Jamaica to assist lead attorney Miguel Lorne in seeking justice for Mario Deane’s family in his beating death early August.
Deane died in the Cornwall Regional Hospital after suffering a severe beating while in the custody of the Barnett Street police.

Your insightful piece is spot on! This type of political argument that Jasmine Rand employs is at the heart of the Alinsky Method. It is the manipulation of argument based upon emotion that makes it so difficult to defeat. It is a method so well internalized in those who use it, that it does take on a cult type presence. They are the useful fools who mix up the political poison for the Kool Aid drinkers. In their world, wrong is right and the ends justifies the means. They live in the fantasy world on the Unicorn Farm.
As I recall , wasn't she brought into the Martin/Zimmerman trial by Parks and Crump, as a "social engineer" ?

No. The first line is misleading. This article is in a Jamaican newspaper. Rand is an attorney from the US; she is not a US Attorney.
Line got me too until I read she was representing the interests of the Martin relatives.
The Zimmerman trial was a state trial.
As far as I know, the United States has never brought a case (civil rights or otherwise) against Zimmerman.
I believe she suffers from Jungle Fever.
