Your memory is excellent. The damaging admission came from Jasmine Reed (then known as Jasmine Rand) and was elicited by Greta Van Susteren, who was justly outraged.

In essence, Reed uses the media to generate race-based sympathy for the Parks and Crump client of the hour. This pressures the authorities and the judiciary to tilt in favor of that client and taints the potential jury pool.

In addition to helping in the immediate case, the publicity no doubt helps Park and Crump attract clients for their booming personal injury practice.
