On August 10, 2014, the Ferguson, Missouri, the local QuikTrip was looted and torched during riots over the shooting death of 18 year-old Michael Brown.
The QuikTrip was completely destroyed during the Ferguson riots.
Ferguson protesters later warned local business owners to rebuild:
Or its gonna be hell to pay

Despite the threats QuikTrip has no plans of rebuilding in Ferguson.
On August 19, 2014, the gas was removed from the tanks at the Ferguson QuikTrip.
This was another sign that the QuikTrip in Ferguson will not rebuild.
Destroyed QuikTrip in Ferguson removed gas from its underground tanks. The company is getting ready to tear down and rebuild at another location.
UPDATE: A QuikTrip official told TGP the company has no plans on rebuilding in Ferguson and that the looted store was barely breaking even.
Probably. It wasn't that long ago that Ferguson became majority black.
One of the many instances of bad reporting on this is portraying Ferguson as a small town. In fact, it's of many suburban towns north of St. Louis that form a continuous city with St. Louis, but technically they are in St. Louis County.
No, there would other incentives to rebuild: Threat of IRS audit, civil rights lawsuits, all from the Department of Just Us. Have to make these evil business owners into criminals so they are better to control, dontchaknow.
Quick Trip stores are franchises, so the key here is less the chain than the owner of that particular franchise, who I gather will collect his insurance check and move elsewhere.
Look what Katrina did to Texas.
Maybe al can use some of the money he got from NBC, after he buys himself a sandwich which he really, really needs so he does not look like a bag of bone with skin, to help rebuild the damages he was part of in Ferguson.
Generally, people avoid those who threaten them.
Why on Earth would any business rebuild in this location?
DO NOT TEAR THE QT DOWN! Leave the ruins for a memorial to the general stupidity of the citizens of Ferguson.
No, because then someone will get hurt on the property and sue them for money.
I’m amused at the word “despite” in “despite threats . . . no plans to rebuild”. I would read it as because of threats, no plans to rebuild.
Sensible people don’t like being threatened, not by thugs who have already stolen the inventory those people put within reach of the thugs. Sensible people learn from their mistakes, particularly when the thugs admit to the obvious fact that they are still thuggish.
Good work... and good choice not going with the cursive there.
OMG, LOL!
Those burned out businesses must post signs and make it safe for the looters who will now strip out the copper and other items.
Rally in Ferguson held 3 weeks after Brown’s death; attendees say movement just beginning

FERGUSON, Mo. A few hundred people are gathering again in Ferguson to remember Michael Brown and draw attention to what they say is just the beginning of a movement.
Saturday’s rally is being held at West Florissant Avenue where it meets Canfield Drive, the street on which the unarmed black 18-year-old was shot and killed Aug. 9 by white Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson.
People are wearing shirts and carrying signs with slogans such as “hands up, don’t shoot,” and “we want justice.”
St. Louis attorney Jerryl Christmas says the rally is meant to keep Brown’s death “in the forefront of America.”
There is a muted police presence. Missouri Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, who’s been in charge of security for more than two weeks, is posing for selfies with rally attendees.
