On August 10, 2014, the Ferguson, Missouri, the local QuikTrip was looted and torched during riots over the shooting death of 18 year-old Michael Brown.
The QuikTrip was completely destroyed during the Ferguson riots.
Ferguson protesters later warned local business owners to rebuild:
“Or it’s gonna be hell to pay”

Despite the threats QuikTrip has no plans of rebuilding in Ferguson.
On August 19, 2014, the gas was removed from the tanks at the Ferguson QuikTrip.
This was another sign that the QuikTrip in Ferguson will not rebuild.
Destroyed QuikTrip in Ferguson removed gas from its underground tanks. The company is getting ready to tear down and rebuild at another location.
UPDATE: A QuikTrip official told TGP the company has no plans on rebuilding in Ferguson and that the looted store was barely breaking even.
Sorry Ferguson, but the neighborhood is kinda bad for business.
Wise move. Maybe some of the millionaire basketball players can build a midnight basketball court in its place.
Takes a lot of damn nerve. This wasn’t a natural disaster. It was a citizen of Furguson man made disaster.

“We deserve this!” exclaimed to looter. And I knew then it would mean businesses would leave the town and the cycle of poverty/unemployment/crime would increase.
I can’t blame Quik Trip at all. I feel bad for the good folks of Ferguson who don’t deserve the savages and animals that populate their outdoor zoo.
Richard’s Board Up Service was doing a booming business but I guess its dropped off now. I saw his sign on one of the boarded up stores.
Next time, and there will be a next time, the Board Up Services should offer to board up the stores before they are looted.
When it’s announced that there will be no charges filed against the cop who killed St. Gentle Giant Felon, then I imagine a good portion of the ghetto there will burn.
DOJ will sue them for racism. Sound stupid? If it does, then you can bet this will happen.
The problem is they’ll just move to an adjacent town and screw it up as well (if it isn’t already)
Not one word in that news story of anyone’s color though. Not one word about how Denny was beaten nearly to DEATH because he was white, and ONLY because he was white, by a street full of black men and women.
If business owners aren’t willing to rebuild on their own, having a bunch of federal money will not cause most to change their mind.
QuickTrip lost nothing, the owner of the franchise was the ultimate loser..........
Refusal to rebuild by QuickTrip is a good thing but does the franchise owner have the resources and insurance to rebuild in another location mandated by QuickTrip?
For the sake of the owner, I hope so........
