THE ECONOMIST has analysed 190,000 profiles of female sex workers on websites where customers post reviews. The data cover 84 cities in 12 countries, with the biggest number of workers in America and most of the rest in big cities in rich countries. According to our analysis, the price of an hour of sex with a female prostitute has been dropping fairly steadily in recent years. In 2006 the average cost was around $340. By 2014 it had dropped to about $260.

Thirty or forty, heck even 20 years ago, I could understand. Now days, hell, it must be like shooting fish in a barrel if you are not too selective. You can be broke, drug addled, no prospects, violent, etc. and the women will gladly give it away with in the first two hours of meeting.
I think the men are getting older, was what -I- was saying.
Talk to any escort and they'll tell you many of their "clients" are successful, decent-looking, married professionals who use their services for various reasons --but mostly for the discretion an escort provides.
Some dudes just want sex outside of marriage --and they don't want some crazy "fatal attraction" chick they cheated on their spouse with to come around making a bunch of noise.

That is not too far off the mark. Where I live, Asian “massage” parlors spring up like weeds. Some are open just a few weeks, others much longer. It’s like a wack-a-mole. Most of these women are illegals who overstay their tourist visa.
But I hear that with Chinese hookers, half an hour later you’re horny again. :=)

I wonder if this story will be picked up by the Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business Daily, Forbes or Bloomberg and the like. The folks at the Economist must have too much time on their hands to be tracking this nonsense.
