One of the things I enjoy about this website is the opportunity to educate, edify, and challenge us all to think beyond the obvious. Now I realize some folks are as we say in the military stuck on stupid and it will take longer to get them with the program. But it is a challenge I accept.
So, in that light, Id like to invite you to scour the annals of American history in order to respond to President Barack Hussein Obamas recent assertion that Muslims have contributed to building the very fabric or our nation.
As reported by Breitbart On Sunday, President Obama and First Lady Michelle released a statement thanking Muslim Americans for their many achievements and contributions to building the very fabric of our nation and strengthening the core of our democracy.
The comments were made to mark the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, a time of spiritual renewal for Muslims which comes at the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan. The Obamas said in their statement that Eid celebrates the common values that unite us in our humanity and welcomed their commitment to giving back to their communities.
Id like some audience participation here. Please share what you think are the achievements and contributions for which we should all thank Muslim Americans in building the very fabric of our nation? Oh and dont forget common values please share those as well.
Ill go first. And Ill go way back. I know Abraham was the father of all nations and he was Isaac and Ishmaels dad. And in Genesis 16:11-12, (NIV) The angel of the Lord also said to her (Hagar): You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyones hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.
So to Muslims, I say thank you for being a part of the Judeo-Christian foundation that established this great nation. And I am thankful for this Bible verse so I understand Gods blessing upon what would ultimately lead to the growth of violent jihad.
n , adj , pl -lems , -lem
an old-fashioned variant of Muslim
Looks like I came in second.
I thought that Moslem was the religious group from the Middle East, and the Muslim was the ‘label’ that American Blacks adopted to use as a front for criminal activities.
Basically such declarations come across as “thou dost protest too much”. Why not mention the contributions of blacks, or the Irish, or Germans, or Asians?
Tell that to Ron Paul, who in his non intervention stance, always says he is a Jeffersonian.
Is that the first ever misstatement of fact by Ron Paul? I think not.
True. Looking back at the thread, we were like 7 and 8 instead of 1 and 2.
the Muslim/Muslin.....concept was a gem regardless of our position in the thread..in my humble opinion.
Oh Man! hahahaha
