Mississippi Blacks will still be voting Democrat for the next 200 years and still getting nowhere

When Democrat President Lyndon Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, he was doing so very reluctantly. He knew that the 1960 census had shown what he correctly considered a shift to the Right in the South that would make it difficult, if not impossible, for Democrats to win the White House in the future. Being the Machiavellian sneak that he was, Johnson probably looked back at his support for Operation Wetback which deported about 1.5 million Mexicans who were in the Southwest illegally as a lost opportunity to restock the Democrat voter pool.

With that chance lost, Johnson and the Democrats gambled they could sway poorly educated Blacks to vote for the Democrat former Klansmen who had been burning them out and murdering them for decades. When he signed the Civil Rights Law Johnson made two observations. He said he knew he had just lost the South, but then said, “I’ll have them n%^^ers voting Democrat for the next two hundred years.” (1)

Time has proved that substandard education and “walking around” money provided to any number of Judases in Black communities across the South and elsewhere did bring Black voters onto the Democrat plantation where they have been ever since.

In last month’s Mississippi, U. S. Senate Republican runoff election the nation saw how deeply...

Good article and sadly accurate. Blacks seem content to stay on the Democrat plantation 90%+.

They should see the flood of Hispanics as a threat to their jobs and political power. They’ll be replaced soon.

the flood of Hispanics as a threat to their jobs

I think a threat to their welfare would be more appropriate.

Blacks made the instant and permanent switch from republican in 1936, not 1964.

They went from their traditional GOP vote of about 70% in 1932, to an instant reversal of about 70% democrat in 1936, and have maintained their perfect democrat vote since, just as they maintained their perfect GOP vote before 1936.

Unfortunately, I think choice #1 will be the winner given the corrupt MSGOPe regime that seems deeply entrenched. I mean, can you imagine what might happen to the judge that would stand up to the corrupt state politics in Mississippi?

Big deal — go on welfare forever.

The most important point of Black voting habits is being overlooked once again. They have sold out their religious beliefs for money. However much they have unjustly suffered in the past, doing this is neither noble nor excusable. It is a traitorous stab in the back to the G-d Who freed them.

There may be a few genuine Fundamentalists left in the Black community (though I severely doubt it), but they are insulated under several layers of lies by non-Fundamentalist politicians and community leaders to the point that they might as well be atheist Communists. Meanwhile from the days of Hubert Henry Harrison to Myles Horton and beyond the Black church has become a cesspool of liberal nineteenth century German "theology." Even the most rural and Southern Black has long voted like a Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary.

Those who sow the wind will reap the whirlwind.

Ingrates.

Both my mother's and father's ancestors (all four sides) fought to free them and we've been Republicans since Lincoln. If the Republican Central Committee had any 'ovnayim it would sue every Democrat who lies that "all those Republicans became Democrats and all the old Democrats became Republicans."

I'm a "religious fanatic," and there are no Dixiecrats in my woodpile that I know of.

This instant and permanent reversal is unique and unexplained, it must have taken a massive and historically effective publicity push promoting an offer of some type to pull it off, yet none of us knows the details of what the democrats did to take FDR from the normal black support of 23% in 1932, which was a typical presidential election vote for them, to his suddenly winning 71% of their support in 1936, and it never reverting back to the GOP.

Something huge happened, “huge”, yet we don’t know what it was or how it reached the entire black population so quickly and effectively.

"Still" getting nowhere?

Seems pretty pessimistic in light of how much things have changed in 50 years.

People vote as they do for all kinds of reasons, but real change happens behind the scenes when politicians aren't paying attention.

Yes “still getting nowhere,”. Blacks universally live in the same crap holes they always did; go to the same crappy schools; live in the highest crime areas as always; have the highest unemployment rate and a shorter lifespan.
So yes “Still getting nowhere” fits perfectly.

The article's title is wrong, Mississippi's black citizens WON'T still be voting Democrat 200 years from now because there won't be a United States in which they can vote.

Some or maybe all of you folks reading this post may not believe what I reluctantly believe about America's incredibly rapid decline from the richest, most powerful, most moral, most generous, most forgiving, most God-fearing, and almost everything good, honorable and decent that the greatest nation in the history of planet Earth once typified not long ago as we count long in reference to old Father time.

A gracious God may forgive us for allowing greed and unrestrained political power to ruin our once decent, prosperous, Godfearing, and honorable nation, but our children's children probably wont.
