In British Columbia, a teachers strike has closed schools across the province. The two sides have dug in, for how long no one knows. But thats not the only battle raging through the schools these days. Theres also the fight over gender-neutral pronouns.
After weeks of bitter debate, the Vancouver School Board has finally passed a sweeping new policy to recognize the needs of societys newest oppressed group the transgendered. Now, kids who feel that their gender expression may not align with their biological sex will have the right to be referred to as xe, xem and xyr instead of the misleading gender-binary terms he or she, him or her and his or hers.
Were standing up for kids and making our schools safer and more inclusive, board member Mike Lombardi told the Vancouver Sun.
The new policy will allow students to play on the sports team that they think best fits their gender identity. Theyll also be able to choose a gender-neutral washroom if they dont like the ones that match the gender they were born with. School officials will not be obliged to inform the parents if a child is having gender-orientation issues.

Could somebody please explain xe, xem and xyr. How pronounced and used.
It’s a comin’.
I always wanted to shower with the girls volleyball team. Now I have an in.
Misleading terms like he and she???? I'm confused. Does "xe" have a penis or a vagina? Is "xem" able to give birth or not?
Xem.... Xem is outrageous, wasn’t Xem one of the Holograms...
How much more of this stupidity do we have to see??????
SPLAT! More liberal brains hitting the floor. . . caused from keeping their minds so open. . . They just fall out.
“...instead of the misleading gender-binary terms he or she, him or her and his or hers. “
And that has been a big, largely unmentioned part, of the gay agenda. It’s never been just about a perceived inequality for many of these folks. Mere acceptance has never been the goal. It’s about redefining the entire concept of male and female. The purpose being to make gay, etc. not a societal and biological outlier (which I maintain it is), but a mainstream part of the norm, akin to having blue eyes or being left-handed.
Western civilization is losing its damn mind.
how can a girl’s volleyball team, or a girl’s soccer team, be considered a girl’s league, when there are men in skirts playing? Men and women are engineered differently, from leg strength to upper body strength. It’s unfair competition to real girls imo
reminds me of the Atlas Shrugged philosopher who said nothing is real
Since so many mix up he/him I/me, etc. I propose that we just have one pronoun ... it.
insanity prevails
So if the 5’6”, 300 lb creep with the dirt stacshe want to be referred to as xe, am I just to assume I’m dealing with a member of middlesex county or is xe obligated to inform me?
Probably best pronounced like’qu’, as in “quee, quem & queer”
Xe, Xem, Xyr it’s still always either XX or XY
De, dim, derp also works.
There were hints that this rubbish was coming even before my father passed away in 2005. Despite not being given to cussing, he always held the correct nominative gender-unspecified pronoun was s/h/it. I suppose the objective case would be her/im/it and the possessive her/is/its.
