Three top VA officials were supposed to testify before the House Veterans Affairs committee today. They were no shows, saying they didn't have time to get to DC and prepare their testimony. As if. They're being subpoenaed to come back next week.

The Democrats have attempted to shelter Lerner, decrying Issa's investigation as a "political witch hunt" and portraying her as a poor innocent being deprived of her constitutional rights. So far...it's worked to some extent.

However, we are soon going to be treated to the spectacle of multiple VA administrators being hauled before House and Senate committees, and guess what..there won't be any Democrats there to defend them.

So all of these now wretched souls will do the only thing they can...plead the 5th amendment...over and over..and this is going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

People...especially independents are going to realize that we have a government that is out of control, staffed by people who believe they are better than we are, and there is going to be hell-to-pay.

Republicans could do the smart thing, and run in 2014 on Ronald Reagan's words of wisdom from his Inaugural Address:

"Government is not the solution, it's the problem."

DC thinks the American people are deaf, DUMB, and blind. I think not.

...plead the 5th amendment...over and over

Not as incompetently as Lois Lerner did though.

So, even if these VA people go to jail for this, how will that impact Lois Lerner? She will not be touched.

John Boehner & the Republican House would vote to remove Trey Gowdy from office before they laid a hand on Lois Lerner.

One silver lining for our side.... The military, who already disliked Obama to some extent now likely hates him. That means he had better watch his step with his unconstitutional monkey business or he may just be the first president to face a military coup. And he would deserve it.

She just has to keep a stiff upper lip, face and neck throughout the hearings. If she gets jail, holder will spring her. If she gets a fine, the democrat party will see to it that she gets a high paying job.

the angle the Republicans can push is that in the real world, if an employee messes up, they don’t have the privilege of going into the boss’s office, pleading the 5th, and then going back to their desk as if the boss didn’t matter. These appointees act like they’re entitled to their jobs at taxpayer expense no matter how poorly they perform.

"...saying they didn't have time to get to DC and prepare their testimony."

It's unique in politics that people need so much time to prepare to tell the truth.

Now that a < a href= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzlAXetH2L8> ONE MILLION DOLLAR REWARD has been offered for a whistle blower to bring forth incriminating evidence things could get interesting fast.

You holding your breath or something?

The only consequence to these vermin is an afternoon of public humiliation. And a fat pension if they get fired.

with respect to your expected coming collision, you must have overlooked the constant capitulation of the current republican leadership that continues to protect and suck up to this WH.

All—please call your Senators and Congresscritters today:

www.senate.gov

www.house.gov

Let them know that YOU are outraged about the VA scandal.

GOP and Dems need to hear from all of us.

The vet you save may be from your own family or town.

Now is the time to make your voice heard.

I expect the Benghazi investigation will not be a TV "show and tell" 5 minutes of political speeches.

Chairman Gowdy has already stated the futility of members of Congress with the present show for TV entertainment approach.

I hope and expect that each of the witnesses dill be deposed by experienced investigators for several hours, days if necessary. Only after all the witnesses are deposed will a "findings" report be released to the public followed by public hearings.

They should start with a bang. Bring the first one up, and when they cite the 5th Amendment, immediately have a vote for contempt of congress. It will pass the committee, then it should immediately go to the floor, where the house should vote on putting them in jail. Assuming they do so, then call the next one to testify before the committee.

What percentage of the electorate do you think even knows there’s an ongoing VA scandal and of those who know, what percentage even care?

Woe! Woe is me! The Republicans will never even look at Benghazi. What? They are? Well, they’ll never have a committee to look into it. What? They are? They’ll never appoint Gowdy as the head. What? They did? Woe! Woe is me!

The Dems have announced the house members who will sit on the committee.

Lois Lerner has nothing to worry about.

And excuse my lack of enthusiasm, but “getting hauled before a House committee” these days is only slightly less serious than a seatbelt violation.

Nobody gives a crap because it’s all theater. No one is punished, but golly, it looks good to donors in an election year.

For far too many people, their view of government is positive as long as the check arrives on time each month.

We’re in a real life version of “Atlas Shrugged”.

If anyone knows where Galt’s Gulch is, please freepmail me.
