Why No One Ever Invades Switzerland...

Switzerland's ceaseless determination to remain neutral has kept them out any and all foreign engagements ever since the time of Napoleon...
In order to guarantee this neutrality, every eligible Swiss male between the age of 18 and 42 are called up for service in the Swiss military. On a person/square mile basis, only Israel fields a larger army. Swiss gun culture is deeply imbedded in Swiss society, and it's not unusual to see arms toted around in public.
Every man in the country is issued a rifle and ammunition which they keep at their home in case of national emergency. And throughout history, the rifles issued to the citizens are real serious business... dependable with world-class accuracy:
|
1878 Vetterli |
The first Swiss national rifle issued was the Vetterli, initially adopted in 1869. The Vetterli was the first magazine fed rifle adopted for universal service in Europe. While at the time of it's adoption, this firearm was the most advanced service rifle in Europe.
|
1889 Schmidt-Rubin |
It was replaced in the late 19th century by the Schmidt-Rubin series of rifles. There were several models in this series, including the 1889, 1896/11, 1911 Rifle and Carbine, and the K31. The Schmidt-Rubin series was issued from 1889 to 1957, and many K31s stayed in service for decades afterwards.
|
Stgw.57 |
In 1957, the Schmidt-Rubin series was replaced by the Stgw 57. The Stgw.57 was a marvel of modern craftsmanship, and -like the related handgun SIG210- is considered by many to be the finest battle rifle ever constructed. Stgw.57's continued to be issued to Swiss soldiers until 1990, when it began to be replaced by the Stg.90.
The Stg.90 (also know as the SIG 550) began limited service with the Swiss in the late 1980s, and went into full scale production in 1990. The Stg.90 may well be the most accurate assault rifle in the world, as well as one of the best. It is designed to destroy any target at a range of 400m. Although no longer in production, 600,000 units have been produced.
There's currently one of these daunting 'assault rifles' in virtually every single Swiss home... just like Ukraine probably should have done.
And can you imagine robbing houses there for a living?

Hitler would have eventually gotten around to Switzerland on general principles, but he never invaded them simply because he didn't consider them very important and didn't thing Swiss territory was of any strategic importance. Switzerland was also a place where Hitler's Germany could do business with other countries, through Swiss intermediaries.
Belligerents often find such an arrangement handy to have around.

I wonder if the bicycling girls are really Swiss. I don't think their citizen-soldiers are allowed to be so open with their weapons. I'd guess instead that they are two Americans going to a rifle range. Or perhaps two Israeli reservists.
Let's see - pale skin, Sig assault rifles, bicycles. Yes, I think these ladies are Swiss.
The shooting sports are a far bigger deal to the Swiss than many outsiders realize. They are more open and casual about firearms (well, at least long guns) than we are now. Every canton has at least one competition-level rifle range and the Swiss people make use of those facilities.
Check out this article about their Federal Shooting Competition, which is held every five years. Note that the sponsors include a *brewery* and McDonalds. They had 45,000 participants in 2010, over 2,300 teams.
Texas so needs to mimic this idea.

I used to buy into the anti-french thing, but I’ve come to realize from my son that it’s really all anti-Catholicism. The French, under Napoleon, caused a lot of death and destruction and since they ultimately lost, the victors get to blast them back for it (likewise the Nazis get blasted)....and we Americans follow along because of our short history and even shorter awareness.
The French made the USA possible and helped us critically for several decades keep our sovereignty. And we helped them regain theirs twice. We are brothers in many ways, though I still hate Paris.

Look at the geography in that picture. It isn’t in Israel.

I thought we saved their arse’s in WWII and ??, so what could we possibly owe those people, if anything?
Historically speaking the Anti-Catholic thing has more to do with the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. I know about that as many lost lands, titles, and Royalties had to flee to America after being hid in the Netherlands for protection because they would not convert from Protestant to Catholic, the ships arrived in NYC during the time of late 1600s-1700s.
I don’t eat French Fries unless very hungry, it’s the oil.

You nailed it.
Same story with Sweden and Spain in WWII. As with Switzerland, the benefits of honoring their neutrality outweighed the cost of a war to secure them.
The cost of a Swiss campaign would have been very high given the hostile terrain coupled with the large and well armed/trained citizen army.
Better use of men and material elsewhere at the time.
If I recall right, the Swiss also cooperated with the Nazi’s and allowed scheduled military trains to cross their country to and from Germany and Italy. Think they may have also have maintained a solid trade back and forth including war materials.
What a deal.

Not to mention that most NWO Bankers live there...The Bilderberger meetings members usually come from Switzerland to attend...whether born there or not.
So if they are going to start a war, it will not be in their backyard.

Look at the geography in that picture. Geography? Or yes, now I see your point. Previously I was concentrating just on the girls. I was curious about their...uh...equipment. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

A combination of factors:
a) the are very well armed and well defended by natural barriers as you note;
b)they are very small, with no great natural resources (not much to be gained at great cost);
c)they make themselves useful as neutrals (diplomatic services between belligerents, banking, and supply of war material-- e.g. ball bearings to Germany in WWII)
In brief the Swiss make it quite plain there is little to be gained in attacking them and much to lose. Would that we could follow such a policy.

Excellent post yours, #46. And anyone who characterizes the French as “surrender monkeys” should read about the Battle of Verdun.
And you're right about the French and the Americans being brothers. Western nations pick at each other like spoiled children as the muslim caliphate gets closer and closer to reality.

The Swiss let trains full of people going to concentration camps go thru their country knowing full well these people were going to die.

Sorry, but I cannot find the part about the BLOODBATH from SCHOOL SHOOTINGS that Mayor Blumberg PROMISES will happen when there are lots of guns around.
Maybe I skipped over it in the article?
