“I don’t see this ruling surviving federal court scrutiny,”

You want the feds to be involved?

Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals.

"Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals."

Kind of like the NKVD fought criminals in the old Soviet Union...

Are you freakin' kidding me? If you believe that this is a good idea you belong over on DU not on a freedom-protecting/conservative site. You're for a totalitarian/tyrannical government system.

Um, no; this just shows that Texas has no sense of jurisprudence — if they cannot have those who are tasked with enforcing the law to keep the law then they have surrendered the integrity of the whole judicial system.

Until Texas or the Feds decide that YOU are the criminal. Remember Waco.

"Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals."

If you believe in the US Constitution as the law of the land, the criminals won this court case.

>Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals.

Reminds me of a Robert Vaughn line near the end of The Bridge at Remagen, just before he faces an SS firing squad (adapting):

“But who are the criminals?”
[engines overhead “Ours or theirs?” “Enemy planes.” “But who is the enemy?”]

IMO, that’s you (the SS firing squad).

I'm with you! In fact, warrants are soooo 18th-century! Criminals have gotten smarter, so should we! No warrants should be required at all! IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE, YOU SHOULDN'T OBJECT! Just bust in people's houses, all hours of the night, with SWAT teams! You never KNOW what nefarious activities you will find!

DO AWAY WITH WARRANTS!!!

Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals.

Unfortunately, abuse of the Constitution does not limit itself to actions against criminals. The police and the justice system become criminals themselves, arresting, shooting, prosecuting, and destroying innocent citizens in their blood lust for power. Innocent people and innocent dogs die at the hands of law and order zealots. This is human nature and is why constraints on government power must be in place and must be enforced.

Police today are not properly constrained and prosecutors and judges are enabling their abuse of power.

So you're okay with police forcibly invading your home or property without a warrant, finding (or planting) whatever they want, then sitting in your home for several hours while they wait for an actual warrant to be issued, and THEN arresting you?

You must enjoy the flavor of jackboot on your tongue.

“Again, Texas shows the way to fight criminals.”

So, you’d be all for standing naked out in front of your house each evening while the State searches your home to be sure neither you and your naked family are criminals or in
possession of “contraband” all in the name of “law enforcement”?

"Texas shows the way to fight criminals."

Fighting crime is easy.... Deciding what constitutes a crime....now THATS the tricky part....

The people should be the ONLY ones to decide what crime IS and what is NOT crime..!! Not some stinking COMMIE judge...!

"the jury has a right to judge both the law as well as the fact in controversy....John Jay, 1789.

"The law itself is on trial quite as much as the case which is to be decided"...Harlan F. Stone, 1941.

"The pages of history shine on instances of the jury's exercise of its prerogative to DISRERGARD instructions of the judge"... U.S. vs. Dougherty, 1972.

The fate of our nation could very well be in the hands of the jury..! That's one place we can still fight back...

“Again, Texas shows how to fight criminals.”...That’s fighting criminals? Perhaps, it’s another circumventing of the basic tenets of Our US Constitution. You have any idea, why that would be popular, amongst the police state types? If I have been redundant, please allow that I am extremely stupid.
