White liberals have been very good to Spike Lee, pouring money and praise upon him in return for the excruciatingly politically correct movies he directs. Here he returns the favor exactly as we have come to expect:
Spike Lee went on a long-winded rant against gentrification in New York City on Tuesday night when he was asked to argue against the development of poorer neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Harlem. …
Lee pointed the finger at white New Yorkers who have moved into historically black neighborhoods and changed the environment, arguing that those changes have caused the areas to evolve into something completely different.
This avatar of the enlightened liberal establishment shares his sophisticated wisdom:

I’ll bet you didn’t know the New York City area was originally settled by Africans.

The constant sophomoric use of obscene language is so that other liberals can identify him as genuine.
Lee told a story about how a party in Fort Greene park was proposed in honor of [homosexual child molester] Michael Jackson when the singer died but the plan got nixed after residents complained that there would be too much garbage.
‘Garbage? Have you seen Fort Greene Park in the morning? It’s like the mother*****’ Westminster Dog Show. There’s 20,000 dogs running around. Whoa. So we had to move it to Prospect Park!’ Lee said. …
‘You can’t just come in when people have a culture that’s been laid down for generations and you come in and now s*** gotta change because you’re here? Get the f*** outta here. Can’t do that!’
Send in your welfare money, white oppressor, but you stay out of our culturally enriched, racially homogeneous slums!
By the way, Lee has lived on the Upper East Side with his wealthy white admirers since 2000. If anyone could be phonier than his fans, it could only be Spike Lee himself.
There are complaints about property values going up. Some minority activists decry rising rents in gentrifying neoghborhoods, and that long time residents are forced out if they can’t afford higher rent.
Actually, the original European settlers named it New Amsterdam, after the ancient African city of Amsterdam. The English renamed it after their conquest.
As much as I despise Spike Lee, his portrayal of Malcolm X was pretty good even though he stuck himself into the movie as Shorty. It was pretty accurate regarding the book but I suspect he didn’t understand or refused to understand that Malcolm X’s ideas were evolving and had he lived, he would have realized the truth and that truth is the hucksters like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have a vested interest in keeping a brother down.
After reading the book, I had a new-found respect for Malcolm X.
Why doesn’t Spike live in a project so he can live an authentic black experience? It’s like rich liberals slumming, they think they’re so edgy but it’s easy to visit a ghetto if you’re rich. I’ve yet to see even a single one renounce their money and live in a project so they can keep it real.

Amazing. So by his logic, those who object to immigrants who come to the U.S. and refuse to assimilate in any way, and instead insist on forcing everyone else to live by THEIR customs, are completely justified. Right Spike? Right?! I mean, we've been here for a couple of hundred years now, shouldn't anyone who moves here have to assimilate into our culture, just as the "gentrifiers" moving into Harlem should have to assimilate into yours? Of course, Spike and his ilk will accuse you of being a racist/bigot/xenophobe for even suggesting anything like what he just said.
Spike is yet another example of how even remarkably stupid hypocrites can become rich in this country.
Some of those original Dutch settlers were my ancestors. Some of them came as indentured servants along with a few black african indentured servants.

Well, yes, quite frankly. Africanism studies of all things African (not those white South Africans, but those dark ones, from Africa) dictate that all learning, culture, civilization, knowledge and humanity stems from Africa, be it the actual genes from Lucy, Suzie, or Shaniqua - whoever she was those many tens of thousands of years ago, or the yo-yos that little children used to play with. Hell throw in the iPhone, too.

I personally favor freedom of choice. Let there be mixed neighborhoods, let there be apartheid neighborhoods. Let people decide what kind of neighbors they will have.
