The problem with the poster is it is a strawman.
No one is arguing that the temperature raised up a degree or two, but WHY? That is the dispute. Not the WHAT happened but the WHY it happened.
They are deliberately twisting the truth. The dispute that I as a scientist make is the idea that human beings have caused this. NO SUCH PROOF.
The temperature has gone up, but it has not been proved to be caused by carbon dioxide created by the human industrialism on the planet.
No relation to kilo/mile. Celsius divided the range from freezing to boiling water into 100 units. Fahrenheit divided it into 180 units. That’s why there’s 180/100 = 9/5 F degrees per C degree.
Answer me this: how does that chart help with NASA’s core mission to make muslims feel better about themselves?
I think you mean the "hockey stick" in which Mann used fake data.
So very eloquent, so very apropos. :-)
And Why I should give a s**t....old style Jewish comic genius.
The boiling point of water is 100° Celsius, the freezing point of water is 0° Celsius, therefore the range between freezing and boiling is 100° on the Celsius scale.
The boiling point of water is 212° Fahrenheit, the freezing point of water is 32° Fahrenheit, therefore the range between freezing and boiling is 180° on the Fahrenheit scale.
Since the range of temperature between freezing and boiling for water (measured at sea level) represents the same change in thermal energy added to the water we can say that 180° Fahrenheit is equal to 100° Celsius. Dividing both sides of the equation by 100 yields 1°Celsius = 1.8° Fahrenheit.

PS -40° is the only point where the temperature is the same on both Celsius and Fahrenheit scales.
I didn’t know NASA was around in 1880 to oversee precision temperature measurement and data compilation.
I stand corrected then, or rather the converter I used stands corrected. It said 1 degree C = 33.8 degrees F.

That’s the one. He has several versions and all of them creatively hide the Maunder Minimum and the divergence of actual temperature readings from the model-predicted path for temperature.
Medieval Warming Periodnot Maunder Minimum.
