Humans love owning pets. But life gets in the way sometimes and, sadly, we have to give our furry friends up to someone who can take better care of them. Though its tough, its the right thing to do.
Florida woman Shelley Bezanson isnt concerned about doing the right thing.
Bezanson, 28, lives in an apartment in Osprey, Florida. Her landlord recently told her that dogs were prohibited in her apartment and that she would be evicted if she didnt get rid of Diamond, her pit bull mix.
Rather than give Diamond to a local rescue shelter that would find him a new home, Bezanson took him to a vet and asked the vet to euthanize him. The vet refused, but Bezanson protested.
She told the vet her dog was old and unhealthy. The vet shot down this claim and said Diamond was a healthy, happy dog. He refused to euthanize Diamond and told Bezanson to donate him to a shelter if she could no longer care for him.
Bezanson wasnt having any of it. Instead of giving away her dog, she killed him. She told police she turned up the music in her apartment so neighbors wouldnt be able to hear Diamonds screams and then strangled him with his own leash. A necropsy suggested Diamond likely died a prolonged and painful death.
When asked why she wouldnt give him up, Bezanson told police she couldnt stand the thought of someone else owning him.
"I promised Diamond we would be together until the end," she allegedly told police. "And this was the end."
Bezansons act has landed her in jail. She was arrested last Friday and is being held on $25,000 bond.
Bezanson also owns a cat and a domesticated rat. One of the worst parts about this story is that she told police she plans to get another dog one day. For the sake of the poor future pup who could land in her custody, lets hope this isnt allowed to happen.
Sad the animal had to experience the prolonged betrayal. The woman must do time.
woman is dangerous
ping
cruelty beyond all understanding. what a selfish self-centered woman (though other words come to mind). there is not a corner in hell hot enough for the likes of her
In the news sometimes there are selfish people who shoot their loved ones and then themselves. They are a step above this woman, who told her dog they would be together til the end, and then didn’t kill herself.
I’m saving my dog for after the financial collapse. Dog makes a fine meal.
I dont know how a human being can look into the eyes of a defensive little dog and kill him..she could have found a friend, family member, anyone to take this dog, doing this is just evil
ahaha THANK YOU!
A Soetero family favorite no doubt
Atomic that is so funny!
That said I think you can kill
your dog, cat, rat anytime you want
but not your baby.
I would say something but I’m crying too hard to speak
That’s what weak selfish people do when they don’t think anybody, not even a dog would consider them loveable without being tricked or trapped into the obligation of affections. She should not be allowed to keep anything other than some low maintenance plant like a saquaro cactus tree.
Just wait until she has kids and the future husband realizes she’s a fruit loop and wants to divorce and take custody...
wicked woman. proverbs says you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat their animals. i know all i need to know about this evil b1tch.
i could never do this to my little guys.
i’d defend them from anyone who’d hurt or kill them.
i pray every day that i don’t accidentally hurt them while playing with em (they aren’t dogs). they are very quick and quiet sometimes and so i am careful to look around before moving feet/body.
That woman is dangerous, I don’t know about all of them heh.
Kidding aside, I can’t believe most stories I read these days, they just seem so over the top, I mean who does those things?
I agree with another poster too, she needs to do time.
Isn’t there a legal way to have that done?
Strangling a Pit Bull sounds dangerous.
and is almost certainly a democrat
