SEX AND THE SENIOR CROWD
Coach is Right ^ | 1/14/14 | Suzanne Eovaldi

The year end’s most popular “Florida Man” tweets feature the very strange story of a 76 year-old South Florida resident who was arrested at the hospital bedside of his elderly wife who was being treated for a broken right hip which he had caused. (1) A nurse called police after she overheard the couple talking about the fight they had when the wife walked in on her husband surfing dating sites on the Web. The wife apparently struck the first blow by slapping him, but police arrested the husband for shoving her to the floor, thereby causing the woman serious injury. “After 33 years of marriage, I cannot believe it,” the wife said.

In Sonora, CA two old people were busted for having intercourse in a parked car in the parking lot of Docs Smoked Barbecue and...

Any church that tells a married couple they can’t have sex is evil and wrong.

They can have sex and are basically required to procreate (exceptions exist) if they're married within the Church, not remarried, etc. Many Catholics have big families.

I was kidding about the 25 yo thing obviously.

Best wishes to your daughter and her finance and I hope they experience a fruitful marriage.

But that doesn’t mean they have to stop having sex once the body has moved to the “post child bearing” phase.

No, you’re looking for Divine justification for your intimacy issues.

obviously this josephite marriage thing is not prescribed by the Church as the common way to undertake married life.

That is correct; it isn't very common. However, all are familiar with the idea of living as "brother and sister".

You're all looking for some kind of Divine justification for your compulsive sex addictions long after procreative age.

Compulsive sex additions? I don’t believe that such a thing exists. Sexual desire is something that is as natural as anything can be and there are God ordained ways that this desire is satisfied and ways that God disapproves of……Within a marriage, this takes the form of a need since without sex between a healthy wife and husband, the marriage is dead.

Sex among seniors sounds really OK. If they have relations with their husbands/wives. Should they stop because there’s some number like 60, or 74, or 94 glued to their hat saying “too old for sex”?

There are a lot of articles in media geared to seniors reporting loving sexual relations with their partners of many years. Probably extends the happiness factor as well as lifespan.

I sat near a couple at a restaurant in FL who were newlyweds. They were clearly in their 80s, and clearly very much in love. Really, a life lesson for all of us who intend to have long, long lives.

I can't seriously continue to correspond with an individual who doesn't believe there is such a thing as compulsive sex addictions. Clinton? LOL

yes i am familiar with it, and were one of us unable to continue to consummate our marriage i would be fine with it. but i have a brother and i have a husband, and i prefer my relationship with my husband to be more intimate than that.

thank you. they did this the right way, without premarital sex and without living together, which marks them as fairly unusual among others their age. i believe that God put them together for a reason and hopefully he will bless their marriage.

Wow, how to answer that one?

It's seldom that one comes across someone so self-righteous, so absolutely full of themselves, so averse to the teachings of scripture - and simple logic.

Then I remembered my humble tagline...

Pharisee - take note!

OK, I'm going to leave the thread since it is just getting to be repetition.

I certainly am with you and others in that sex and most definitely procreation are vitally needed within marriage. Part of the reason Catholicism prohibits (artificial) birth control.

Boomers began in 1946, so if the first boomers were born 1/1/46, today they’d be 68. So 69+ are NOT boomers.

Since Jesus had at least six (half) siblings, Joseph and Mary would have had to be exceptionally busy to have them all by the age 25. I am not sure that kidding is a good thing while trying to explain a belief. That leads to too much confusion about what you mean since we cannot tell from the text what is kidding and what is belief.

“Why anyone beyond 35-40 still wants to have sex is beyond me.”

You might want to visit with your doctor next time. They can diagnose what is wrong.

If you believe Jesus had six siblings you are welcome to believe that everything I said was said in jest.
