Thank you for my first lol of the day!
Hope you feel better soon. This is hanging on a bit longer than things usually do, no?
I can see that. (Both the image, and His need to do a facepalm...)
Sadly, he is no longer alive.
I know what you meant about the gargle, but I would have better luck I think, if I used salt and warm water. Aspirin in any doses scares me because of my tendency to bleed. I had two bouts of bleeding ulcer in a six month period, and it is SCARY!
I don’t use any cough drops but Ricola. I was using wild cherry, but the cough drop section was pretty well picked over, so I had to get the original flavor, which has horehound in it. *blech*
The purer the ingredients, the better for my body, so I’m very careful. CFIDS messes up so much of my life...
In some ways that is an infortunity.. If we played cricket on our side of the pond, Pierced Moron would not need to travel to DownUnder to get whacked in the head...
I'm still hoping that he tries hitting any major league pitcher's fast ball over here. Preferably one of those with Bob Feller/Nolan Ryan type arms (but anyone with a 160 km/hr fast ball - that's 100 mph for those who don't want to do the conversion - would do.. ;-) And Moron bravado makes him forgo the helmet. And the pitch strangely slips - about four times. High. And tight. With a pleasing thunk.
Might, just might, knock some sense into the cranial cavity. It certainly wouldn't make him any MORE moonbatty...
and for proof look no further than the duck billed platypus... ;-)
Started in the late 70's with kenpo under Jay T. Will (RIP) to nidan level, in 90's I fell into northern tiger, was hooked, and now I practice for feeling healthy, alert and limber, primarily.
That reminds me, I need to put Vick's on her chest. She doesn't like it, but it helps with the hollow cough.
Since no decent new movies are popping up and now I'm in a martial arts movie mood, I'm going to go to an oldie but a goodie: the original Drunken Master with a young Jackie Chan.
Lifting King Kong (kind of, sort of based on a true story)
http://www.dramafever.com/drama/4371/Lifting_King_Kong/
Lee Ji Bong is a former 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics athlete in weightlifting, but a career-ending injury forces him into early retirement. Unable to find another job and unsupported by the Korean Olympic Committee, he ends up working at a nightclub handing out flyers. When his former coach finds him, he insists Ji Bong begin a career as a coach at a high school in Boseong - a rural region in the southwest. There, he forms a weightlifting team made up of a ragtag group of outcast girls.

A Brilliant Prophecy from 93 Years Ago:
H.L. Mencken (born 1880 - died 1956) was a journalist, satirist, critic, and Democrat. He wrote this editorial while working for the Baltimore Evening Sun, which appeared in the July 26, 1920 edition. He wrote:
“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.”
-—H.L. Mencken, the Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26, 1920
So it was written, and so it has come to pass.
LOST...
It came true
Heh. As you might guess, I like Mencken.
I just got a call from the doctor about the fasting blood draw I had on Wednesday. The good news is that my cholesterol is 112 and my triglycerides are at 39. YAY, ME! AND! I’m not even pre-diabetic! Blood sugar was at 98.
The bad news is that after two bouts of bleeding ulcers in the last six months, my hemoglobin is 6.6 (normal: 11.7 -15.5) and the hematocrit is 23.2 (normal:27 - 33)
So first thing in the morning, I will be going to the ER for a transfusion. Honest. The doctor wanted me to go this evening, but I have had my pills and this is Friday night. So I will go around 0500 in the am.
sounds like some good news, good luck on tomorrow
I was really sick last year at this season. It’s nicer if you can rest a little more and avoid crowds of germy people. So sorry for Kathleen....
I hope everything goes smoothly with the transfusion! Eat plenty of spinach!
I didn’t have any yesterday, need to fix that today.
