Colorado gunman Karl Pierson, who seriously injured a 17-year-old girl when he opened fire at his school, supported tougher gun laws.
The 18-year-old, who had been dropped from the debate team, was said to have had strong views on politics and gun control, classmates said.
Pierson was also allegedly suspended from the school in September for making threats against the team coach, Tracy Murphy, believed to have been the target for Friday's attack.
'He had very strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff,' junior Abbey Skoda told the Denver Post.
The paper reported that Pierson had once posted an image on Facebook with the slogan: 'The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?'
The post had been removed on Saturday.
Despite seemingly supporting gun control, Pierson legally bought the shotgun that he used only one week before carrying out his attack......
...Several students at Arapahoe High School claimed that the outspoken teenager had been in an argument with Mr Tracy, believed to be his intended target, earlier in the year, which led to him being dropped from the team.
Joe Redmond, one of the captains of the team, told the Los Angeles Times that Pierson had been suspended from school for two weeks in September for making threats.
'When he came back he was really, really angry,' Joe said, adding that he asked Pierson to return to the team on Monday after they came first in a tournament.
But the 18-year-old said he still hated Mr Tracy and told him: 'Apparently you get suspended for threatening to kill a teacher.'....

The public schools created this monster. I’ve always thought that having communist/Marxist programmers in our public schools was a bad idea.

Public schools (and I suppose this includes universities) would rather be known as failing academically than being labeled (rated) as dangerous.
There is a little12 year old girl that has very strong opinions and is demanding to meet with the Governor. I would keep a very close eye on her. Never know when she might “go postal.”

Adding to the shock of Pierson’s sudden meltdown was the fact he once wise cracked about Republican opposition to gun control. Prior to that terrifying day Pierson, described by students as having communist views, hinted he felt strongly about curbing gun violence.
Obviously, politics mean nothing in these cases, as this guy was plumb crazy. Conservative folks just feel vindicated though, justly, as crazy is crazy.
Poor parents and victims.
I'm making the point because the Left wants to make violence with guns (except in places like Chicago, etc) a problem of conservatism and the 2nd Amendment.
And about your "poor parents" - it strikes me that the parents of the shooters in these cases have tons of signals that things are very wrong with their children (and I am sure that in some of these cases they asked for help and didn't receive it, probably for PC reasons). But there ALWAYS are signals that their children are a threat.
I think expulsion would better fit a death threat and stop suspending children for kind acts-- a six year old kissing a girls hand.

Something I expect to see more of going forward. Socialist gun grabbers going on shooting rampages in order to scare people into supporting gun control. Socialism is their religion and many of them are willing to die for it.

Tom Clancy gave a speech with Q&A to a group. A man stood up and said something along the lines of, “I’m 21. Should I try to write the great American novel now or go out and get experience first.” Clancy said, “Get a job. No offense meant, but nobody wants to read what a 21 year old has to say.” As far as I’m concerned listening to a 12 year old lecture me on their view of the world is wasted time.
I’m glad that Governor McCrory is having no part of this little girl’s shenanigans. She is a 12-year old actress who has been propped up by her parents to get attention by the Democrats in North Carolina. She is preaching the socialist mantra without having a clue what she is talking about. McCrory told her to go pound sand.
This punishment fits the Libs notion of "group guilt"; the innocent and the guilty both get punished; because in the Libs mind, everyone is guilty. There is no individual responsibility.
Imagine a thought experiment with a pack of dogs. The dogs exhibit both good and bad behaviors, but are randomly punished no matter what the dogs do good or bad. What sort of dogs would you have as a result of this sort of arbitrary punishment? You'd have a pack of dogs that would cringe at the approach of humans and they would likely be vicious and unpredictable in their behavior. We now have schools practicing the same sort of Marxist "group guilt" on children. Is it any wonder we're seeing the behaviors were are?
