Thanks so much for the replies. I would tell folks that anything is possible in God's world, but I have to confess I suspected I was just paying Him lip service. Then this good news and I realize that my faith really is only that of a mustard seed, but the quality of faith isn't what matters, it's the quality of that which you have the faith in and He is mighty indeed.

The doctor told us that there are generally three categories for any cancer and they especially applied to this type of small cell that has already invaded so much. He said it is a general 3-3-3-1 rule.
3 will have some decent results and extend their lives a bit longer than average.
3 will have some results but not go beyond the average prediction (he had given Daniel up to 2 years).
3 will have next to no good results and go through the treatments, suffering the side effects, and have no real increase.
Then there is the 1 who appears to have responded so well that they can no longer detect the cancer and must wait months (or longer) to see if any cells survived to reproduce.

Dan is int the "1" category and we have no doubt that prayers helped - thank you and all who have prayed for him/us. I knew how hard my wife was praying for Dan, so I spent most of my prayers on her - He chose to answer both and I am now overwhelmed with His goodness and the keyboard is blearing up.

I can do little to help others but I and my wife can pray. I try to say at least a prayer a day for the Cancer Warriors in general, but would be honored to pray for specific requests.

I guess He has affirmed that if we trust in Him and are willing to turn things over to Him, while preparing to lean on Him even if things do not turn out as anticipated or hoped, He will find a way to touch our hearts. I pray that those not as fortunate as us keep the faith in Him and that He gives you all the peace of mind and other opportunities to rejoice as He works to redeem your pain with His Grace.

MD Anderson is hosting a presentation on advances in the treatment of prostate cancer on July 12, 2015. You can attend for free if you live in the area or watch it online. My wife and I will be there in person. Here is the link for the info:
