Shimmer1 had a PET scan, and no more cancer was found.
She wanted to share the news. :-)
Booked for Mohs Micrographic Surgery at Women’s College Hospital, Toronto, on February 4. They told me to bring my own lunch. Ain’t socialized medicine grand?
Squawk - Is a wait of four months typical for the kind of surgery you’re having?
Please add me to your ping list
My husband is a stage 4 lung cancer survivor
Thank you
In Ontario it is. Also, it’s illegal to pay for private care; the only option is to pay to get in done in the USA with no reimbursement. It’s also illegal to buy insurance that covers out-of-country treatment.
I’m keeping an eye on it, seems to be stable but if it starts growing again I’ll shuffle off to Buffalo.
We keep the updated ping list right here on this thread, in case anyone on the list has a need to use it urgently.

what a blessing. Glory to God!
:-0 It’s illegal to pay for private care there? Wow.
Despite the health system there, it sounds like you have everything under control. But, I’ll be saying a prayer for you, anyway.
Please add me. Thanks
We keep a running ping list right here on this thread, in case anyone on the list needs to use it right away. Your name has been added. May God bless you!

Anyone here used or is using Cannabis oil?

I did not during chemotherapy. Then again given the testimonies here, my chemotherapy treatments were mild in comparison to others. The medicine they gave me for the nausea and vomiting worked. In six months I really only had three bad weeks.
If an oncologist thinks you need more more medicine to control nausea they usually don’t hesitate. They want the patient to be in as much comfort and strength to avoid delays in treatments.
Please add me to your list as both a survivor and caregiver.
Thanks.
Our son, 48, has been diagnosed with inoperable small cell lung cancer. He has undergone 2 sets of chemo and is slated for radiation to begin on 17 Dec.
We have been footing much of his bills and hope SS and Medicare kick in soon, but the hardest part is that my wife is his main support system at this time. Any advice/prayers welcome.
BTW, my wife picked up a Caregiver's prayer. I am including it for any who may want it:
A Caregivers Prayer
Heavenly Father; help me better understand and believe I can do what you ask me to do.
Forgive me for the times, even now, when I question your judgment.
As I go about the many daily tasks of caregiving, give me energy.
As I watch my loved one oh-so-slowly walk across the room, give me strength.
As I answer his/her repeated questions just one more time, give me patience.
As I look for solutions to whatever is the most recent concern, give me wisdom.
As I reminisce with him/her about the good old days, give me a moment of laughter.
As I get to know my loved one in a new way, seeing both his or her strength and frailty, give me joy.
As I sit beside my loved ones bed waiting for his or her pain medication to take effect, give me comfort.
Lighten my burden, answer my prayer, and give me the strength to to what so often seems impossible. Give me a quiet place to rest when I need it and a quieting of my anxieties when Im there.
Change my attitude from a tired, frustrated and an angry caregiver to the loving and compassionate one I want to be.
Remain my constant companion as I face the challenges of caregiving and when my job is through and its time for me to let go. Help me remember that he or she is leaving my loving arms to enter your eternal embrace. Amen.
Please add me. My Son is a lung cancer survivor. Thanks.
