DOD Chief Says Cost of Syrian Strike Small
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 6 Sep 2013 | John Semmens

Posted on 09/07/2013 11:47:19 AM PDT by John Semmens

US Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel hailed the proposed US attack on Syria as “a bargain.”

“The display of force contemplated can be accomplished at a very low cost to us,” Hagel contended. “The millions we'll spend on ordinance and the few casualties we may incur will be a very reasonable price to pay for defending the credibility of the nation's Commander-in-Chief.”

“Look, given what's already been said, a failure to carry through with at least an air strike would make the President appear as a blow-hard issuing empty threats,” the Secretary added. “We are confident that the American people don't want their President to have his image damaged in this fashion. We believe they'd be happy to pay much more in blood and treasure to ensure that their country isn't humiliated in this way.”

With sequestration we just can’t afford it. We need to just send Assad a strongly worded letter and a picture of 0bama frowning. That ought to hurt a lot as Assad breaks a few ribs rolling on the floor laughing his a$$ off.

I don’t care if it costs 1/2 a cent. NO. There is no logical reason to go into Syria.

for defending the credibility of the nation's Commander-in-Chief

and to divert America's attention off of the lawlessness of the obozo and his administration. The war that will result from an attack on Syria will cost how much and how many lives??? All for the fraud's credibility?? How can anybody ever top that??

We should do it because it’s cheap? I’d think if there was a compelling moral or national interest motive that it would trump the cost.

Hopefully, this is a giant head fake and Obama will knock Iran off the map. (Okay, I may be off my meds...)

If China doesn’t want Obama to get involved in the Syrian war, all it would have to do is threaten to sell its U.S. bonds, which would destroy our economy.

In 1956, President Eisenhower didn’t want Britain, France, and Israel to take over the Suez Canal, so he threatened to sell the U.K.’s bonds unless Britain withdrew its forces, and that was the end of the Suez War.

It’s not Congress’s support Obama should be worried about, it’s the support of Chinese Premier Xi Jinping — who should be known to Obama as Xi Who Must be Obeyed.

How would he know? Last week our Chairman of the Joint Chief’s of Staff testified that he doesn’t have a clue as to what is expected of the military. That’s a big deal.

Excuse me you screwball Hagel - we don't sacrifice our military to defend the 'credibility' of anyone. No amount of men or material will lend credibility to the likes of him.

And how much does a Tomahawk cost to build? Much less maintain and position to launch. Money has already been spent to position some and those ships on station have already been targeted and are in danger.

I am quite willing to accept the Sec. Defense and Commander-in-chief as casualties if it saves the reputation of the USA.

If any of these guys had to pay for anything they do themselves things would be different. They are all a bunch of liars and grifters.
