I lived in Del Rio for three years and it got down to 27 one winter. Austin is colder.
Just make sure you have a good winter jacket. There is nothing between you and Canadian winds but a few barbed wire fences.

Back from the doctor’s. There is good, bad and mixed news. They are going to try and schedule surgery for the left eye so i don’t need ro change doctors.
They measured my right eye for a reading lens so if nothing else i won’t look goofy with only one lens in my glasses.
It appears at the moment that there may be a tiny hole in the retina of my right eye, so i will be going to the Retina Center to have it checked this afternoon.

I went 10 or more years without a coat until last winter I was actually freezing walking home and someone stopped and gave me a coat. It wasn’t new but it was unused, sitting in their closet for years apparently.

I’ve been doing okay, I’m a bit rusty here on FR as I haven’t been on in a long time. I seen a post by Nicknamedbob, I was wondering if he was still around. Did he move? I get a feeling he’s not in Maryland anymore.
