I’d be with you, rooting for failure! LOL!
While I was at Walmart getting the eyedrops, I bought something I haven’t bought in ages...a chocolate frosted French cruller. Died and went to heaven...
But I’m sorry I ate it...I was doing so well... :o[
If all the ingredients are tasty, you can eat the outcome no matter what it looks like!
Tom made bread fairly unsuccessfully yesterday. He started out with his recipe, white bread with eggs, but quickly got confused. “Which is a ‘medium bowl’?” “Use the big metal one, because if you start with one that’s too small, you’ll end up washing two, right?” “Oh.”
So then he starts mixing the dough with the little mixer we use for cake batter (and brownies). “This is getting all gunky!” “Yeah, it’s supposed to, and if you keep doing that, you’ll burn the motor out and have to buy me a new one. You need to mix it by hand.”
Long pause during which I assumed everything was fine, and then ... “It’s all sticking to my hands!!!” which it was, to the wrists and above. “I meant using your hands ... to stir it with a spoon!” “Oh. But now what do I do?”
Well, I scraped it off his hands with a spoon, and it went reasonably well from there, until it didn’t rise enough the second time, so it’s much to dense. But oh well, it tastes like bread.
But you said if it doesn't fail, you're taking it away for a bake sale? From where I'm sitting (with the spoon and napkin) you may as well be throwing it away....
Bring me Epic Fail!
the plumber showed up and left again this morning and now his assistant and helper are here but he isn’t. I think they need some new parts too. lol
Oh and its all wet, been rainy all night and morning.
Still no sign of the electric hook-up truck. I don’t want to wait until Monday if we don’t have to.
The old laptop my niece uses has keys that bounce back and ‘click’ like an old type writer. That brought back memories.
It’s out of the oven and cooling. (Sally: “How long does it have to cool?” Me: “Until it’s cool. No longer hot.”)
However, the test, bake sale vs. we-eat-it, is whether we can get it out of the pan in slices rather than globs.
When I got that tiny metal shard in my eye I used 2 bottles of water to try and clean it out but it wouldn’t budge, so my BIL used a Q-tip.
My BIL and sister owe me a big banana split for this house and dog sitting stuff (and taking care of the kidney lol).
Oooh, ick.
Now I’m confused. This is not hour house and pets at all?
If someone mentions the bread is a bit dense tell them it was a Korean recipe. lol
yummy either way
We’re used to baking near-misses in our family. And we buy off the bakery clearance-rack, too. “What is this?” “I don’t know, but it’s got sugar icing. What’s not to like?”
I should give you my recipe for bread. It’s almost fool proof. I mean, even Tom could do it! *oops*
It’s actually made with powdered milk, but when you eat it, you would never know it. I got it when I was in high school and it’s the only bread recipe I’ve ever used.
Of course, he could always cheat and use Rhodes Frozen Bread Loaves...
“And look! Lembas!”
We have lots of good recipes, but there’s many a slip ‘twixt the page and the plate.
I am staying with my sister and brother-in-law. I am sure I have mentioned that a few times. Probably to KC or someone. I have a lot of problems, vision problems and such, nothing major just a few dozen minor things piled up.
She’ll take care of me, she wants my kidney after all. I clean, I dog sit, I house sit, I baby sit, I Google stuff for them, I burn CD’s for them, I walk to the store. When everything is settled in here I will look for a job too. I plan to volunteer at one of these churches around here too, even if its just one day a week.
The mud here is dark black and sticks like hot tar. It’s crazy. We’re gonna need some Swifters, one for everyone to make a trail as we walk through the house. lol.
I find the recipe ingredients and instructions have a tendency to “shift around a bit” as I get older. Some things, I don’t recall being in the recipe, and some steps seem to be omitted. Go figger.
I like that mexican sweet bread too.
Heck, I like a lot of things. I am not that picky when it comes to sweet stuff. lol.
