How Many Freepers Are Planning To Do What I Am Going To Do? Refusing To Purchase Obamacare? (Vanity)
8/29/13 | OV

Posted on 08/29/2013 11:10:51 AM PDT by OneVike

Thanks to the current regulations Obamacare has forced upon insurance companies, my employer is paying $5,000.00 a Month for my healthcare today. I was informed that as of January 1, 2014 they will be forced to drop my coverage. I work for a small family business that has paid for my health insurance for the past 25 years, but next year they will not be able to afford it any longer.

So, come next year I will be forced to buy into one of the plans offered by Obamacare. I have told my wife I am not going to buy it. I will go without insurance and take my chance with God, whom I have unlimited faith in.

As many of you know, my wife is a paraplegic who has been on medicare, and even her insurance will change. However we will keep hers, because her healthcare is my number one priority.

I am wanting to know how many other Freepers will forgo insurance as I will. How many like me will tell the government to kiss my #^*@.

I am of the belief that there are enough Americans like me who, if we refuse to play their unconstitutional game, can cause the whole system to collapse upon itself. That is if we do not cave in to the pressure to go long.

I am currently weening myself off any and all drugs I am being prescribed by my Dr, and making up the difference by changing my diet and or habits that led me to need the prescriptions. If there is a drug my DR. swears I need to have to live a good life, I will then put my faith in God. Come what may.

Self pay, not insurance ping. Limbaugh says if you need a procedure, negotiate the hospital's "wish list" price down by self paying with cash. See this story: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324139404579017113415486176.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop He underwent his operation the very next day, with a total bill of just a little over $3,000, including doctor and hospital fees. He ended up saving $17,000 by not using insurance

And, if you are underemployed it may he cheaper still to refuse to pay the Obamacare fines and sit out the worth of the fines in jail with three hots and a cot.

Potential activism for the newly graduated in this economy.

Good luck, with the vast majority of Americans uninformed, we will continue getting politicians like the ones we hjave now in GOP-E, who will refuse to scrap it.

That is pretty much what I am doing, and I am finding I can get away with paying a lot less than I thought.

I do believe we will be seeing many lawsuits going through the courty system before this is all said and done.

Hmmm.. If I understand this abominable law, it specifically gives the IRS the right to automatically CONFISCATE the FINE, or Tax; so sure, you might swear up and down that you won’t pay anything..but the IRS has AUTOMATIC access to ANY and EVERY bank account you and I have.

NO ONE will have a choice. EVERYONE will be REQUIRED to PAY the FINE or Tax..or get enrolled in their Unconstitutional system, and pay HUGE Premiums. The IRS will TAKE it regardless of what WE desire.

Either way..AMERICANS lose. The Democrats WIN, by confiscating (Legalised Theft) MORE of OUR money for THIER own purposes.

First learn how to find alternative cures from natural products. I have been self diagnose for years, and find the natural cures which work just as well or better than drugs, without side effects. Diet is a big part of that too.

It’s too soon for me to say since we are both on Medicare. I have a supplement policy with an “in house” insurance. I feel so bad for my young friend whose husband is a farm worker who earns $8 hr. and they have no insurance and can’t get medicaid because he works. She says they will be worse off with obamacare (they can’t afford), and they are thinking of just paying the fine and continue with no insurance. Sad.

“ObamaCare” is what is being referred to as the “exchanges”. Any policy issued after March of 2010 is going to expire in 2014. For those like the OP who had insurance through their employer, who then loses said insurance - you are out of luck - and you WILL buy insurance through the exchanges. You have no choice (other than to NOT buy and get penalized...ooops... I mean “taxed” according to Chief Justice Roberts). Things get really interesting then.

There is the “private option”... but that really is a reference to policies that are grandfathered in - as in you first signed up before March 2010.

Have any of you ever thought about leaving the country?

Why should anyone have to leave the country, except for Obama and the RAT slime who perpetrated this insanity upon us? We may have to go all 1776 on them, and soon.

In the march towards the actual goal of obamaumaocare— the govt. as singler payor and purveyor of care (and keeper of medical and personal details and... our rights)-— the elimination of private insurance companies is the first step.
This is done by... forcing citizens to buy insurance by mandate, and/or their employers. The premium rates that will ensue in either situation, because of required coverage under federal laws.. those rates will become astronomical.

Optioning for the “fine” also prevents the premiums from being paid to private insurers... who then will go out of business. Within 3 years there will only be a single payor, and our govt. thinks it can MAKE us accept that insurance in total and the absolute crap care that will result. Doctors, even new ones, are bailing. “Calling Dr. Bombay” or Chief Arulu.

Defunding the implementation is the only way to stop this.
RINOs want their corporate buddies to cost shift this final labor cost.. onto the public. Only , it will not work. It will impode.

...but the IRS has AUTOMATIC access to ANY and EVERY bank account you and I have.

After a few IRS offices and agents have serious "accidents", it may be hard for them to recruit enforcers.

Indeed there is nothing that says we must report the existence of coverage.. nothing with any teeth in it except the threat of seizure of accounts by a gestapo. How long does our geniuses in govt. think this will be allowed to go on?

My wife & I have BC/BS individual high deductible policies that BC informs us are grandfathered in.

I got a real bullsh1t brochure last week from BC, telling me all the great stuff I will now get, telling me I get to keep my current policy, telling me that all I had to do to keep it and these new wonderful benefits is to keep paying my premiums. Oops, no mention of how much higher the premiums will be in January when we renew. Methinks I will not be able to afford them. May as well pay those fascists their pound of flesh.

I refuse to drain what little I have in retirement savings to pay insurance premiums that the government is directly responsible for making unaffordable. I can say no more & still expect my comments to post.

From what I have learned, the IRS can only take via the federal tax. So when I owe taxes, I pay what I owe, but not the fine. There is no mechanism for them to recoup the amount I refuse to pay on my own.

That is unless the health Director allows for a change in how they collect their fine. However, for now they can only get it via your tax return, not from the employer withholding.

At least not yet.

I'm figuring it will take about a month for some union thug who lost his insurance and is now part time to lose a loved one due to lack of insurance that he had before Obama. Such an individual will purchase a .50 cal Barrett and take out some ObamaCare official at 3000 feet.

After such attack, they will rethink the whole thing and privatize it. The union thug will have 2.5 million views on Youtube right behind ObamaPhone.
