(CNN) – Republican Sen. Rand Paul welcomed praise from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who said she's on "Team Rand" when it comes to the recent intraparty feud between the senator from Kentucky and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
In an interview to air on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront," Paul also said Tuesday he plans to stay out of the debate over whether his fellow Republican colleague Sen. Ted Cruz would be eligible to run for president. [...]
On another front, his Senate colleague Ted Cruz has stoked speculation of a potential White House bid with his recent trips to early presidential primary voting states. Some, however, question whether Cruz would be eligible to run for president, given that he was born in Canada to an American-born mother and a Cuban-born father.
But Paul said he's not wading into that debate.
"You won't find me questioning his eligibility. I decided a long time ago I wasn't going to be a birther for Democrats. I'm not a birther for Republicans," he said. "I'm staying out of that. Yeah, I'm just staying out of that one."

Just because the Democrats lie, cheat, and steal doesn’t mean that the Republicans have to ignore it. Still less does it mean that they should lie, cheat, and steal in return.
We need a return to honest government, hard as Republicans of all persuasions—whether RINO or Paulite—seem to find getting their heads around that concept.

Rand Paul is a smart fellow. He realizes that the “birther” movement has been marginalized by the media, and to publically go along with them is to invoke the cries of “racism” and “nationalism” that would cost him an election before it starts.
He’s just saying that so as not to damage the party now. Locked in a fierce race for the nomination it’s a whole different story.
Amazing that the msm has spent more time in one week investigating Sen Cruz than they have in 5 years of Urkel’s despotic rule.
I think more people should ask some questions of these post 08 “birthers” who seem intent on destroying all republicans but don’t hold any other conservative positions.

Use of the word birther seems to be the Republican dodge. Rand is embarrassing.
It looks like Rand will oppose Rep. Steve Stockman’s look into Obama’s birth certificate investigation.
EVERYBODY who seeks the nomination for President should be questioned!!

The party is already damaged now for not investigating and having hearings on Obama’s eligibility and fraudulent birth certificate. To not uphold Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution is downright treason if you ask me.
