MoveOn.org has started a petition to get ESPN reporter Chris Broussard immediately suspended from the network for comments he made regarding Jason Collins's homosexuality, which Broussard said was a sin according to his personal Christian beliefs. The group said Broussard was engaging in "gay bashing."
The petition reads:
Chris Broussard's hateful attack on Jason Collins for being gay was an unacceptable misrepresentation of the Christian faith. ESPN must immediately suspend Chris Broussard and guarantee that their network will never again be used for gay bashing.
In its "petition background" statement, the left-wing organization says that after Jason Collins "emphasized the importance of his Christian faith in accepting himself and deciding to come out," ESPN's Broussard "attacked" Collins.
"Shockingly, so far ESPN is standing by Broussard, describing his tirade as 'a respectful discussion of personal viewpoints,'" they write....

Wicked! :)
ESPN will lose half their commentators over this if they do ANYthing to Broussard.
Hey, Mark! That’s terse and right to the point!
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
I know you’re already zotted, but let me just say this—my opposition to homosexuality as a Christian and your views on free speech ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. You are correct to a point that this is a free speech issue, and despite the fact that Broussard was merely giving his personal opinion, the fact that he mentioned he was still friends with the gay guy on the panel, and the fact that the gay guy on the panel backed him up on it, the Gaystapo will not allow any contrary opinion. Period.
But what you need to do, friend, is get your ass off your shoulders, and turn your sights on the real targets. Hint: They ain’t us.
PS: And I hope you find Jesus and get saved, and I’m not being sarcastic when I say that.

I am a 30+-year Redskins fan, from the days of the Hogs and the Fun Bunch, and I’ve rarely been prouder of a player in the burgundy and gold than I have of RG3. It’s good to see a young man in the NFL that isn’t a thug, is reasonably articulate, and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Oh yeah, and also has crazy talent. I just hope he can come back off his injury. Well, that and the idiots up in DC don’t change the name “Redskins” to “Redtails.”

So a Conservative gets bashed for stating Conservative Views, while a gay-loving dick-head makes headlines. What is wrong with this picture?
Can you save this for the Undead Thread? We’re starving, here...the Trolls are onto us.

After that mess, I was very sorry that I am allergic to chicken and couldn’t eat one of their sandwiches.
Eloquently expressing one’s Christian beliefs is now a “hateful tirade”.
This is what our nation has become. Pretty sad.
I hope I have Broussard’s courage if I’m ever called on to give my opinion.
The Bible is God breathed. It is His message to us, our "owners manual" for living.
