An article published on CNN's website makes an unproven claim that pressure cooker bombs like the ones used at the Boston Marathon terror attack are a 'signature' of 'right-wing extremists.' The article was co-written by Jennifer Roland and Peter Bergen. Bergen is the CNN ananlyst made the claim that right-wing extremists could be behind the bombing less than two hours after it took place.
The article says (emphasis added) :
A senior U.S. counterterrorism investigator told CNN that pressure cooker bombs have also been a signature of extreme right-wing individuals in the United States who he said tend to revel in building homemade bombs.
This specific claim that "pressure cooker bombs have also been a signature of extreme right-wing individuals in the United States" appears to be completely unsubstantiated. Not a single example is given even in the CNN story itself of anyone other than al-Quadea using a pressure cooker bomb.
The article goes on to discuss the Olympic Park bombing by anti-abortion terrorist Erich Rudolph but those bombings were done with pipe bombs, not pressure cooker bombs. .......

If they are saying it, that’s the official template being fed to them by the Obama Administration. Take that to the bank.
And woe to the FBI agent or investigator who allows any pesky little details like to truth to get in the way.
Collective hysteria, pinpoint blame on certain group, create hatred of certain group, round up group into concentrated area for their own protection, of course.
There’s a pattern there, we’ve seen it before....
Maybe if a bomb blew up CNN then I might halfway consider it to be “right wing extreemist”.
Also, the administration has already revealed their policy on openess concerning islamic terrorism in the Ft Hood and Benghazi incidents.
It doesn’t matter if this is a right-winger, OWS, Jihadist or Weatherman. The media and the government have full control of the information now. The early stages was uncontrolled and freedom of speech prevailed. They won’t eat crow on this. If they’re saying it, they’re providing the narrative, and they’ll provide the culprit. The bomber will be a conservative, Tea Party, Christian, Homeschooler, Freeper.
I hope I’m wrong. If I am wrong, the suspect will never be identified.
Looks to me that they already found the perp, and had to let him go, because they could not allow this to be seen as an Islamic attack.

I haven’t been reading all of the stories of right wingers blowing up things using pressure cookers.
In fact this is the first story I have read about pressure cookers being used in bombings.

I think so too. They successfully convinced most libs that “Nazi” means “right-wing.” Why not this too? Pretty soon, all violence will be categorized as right-wing, and you are either with the official program, or you’re a terrorist automatically. Rather like in the 1990s when the continuum among leftie humanities professors ran from GOOD (Socialist) to EVIL (Racist) and that was the only continuum they recognized. You could move away from racism only by supporting socialism.
Someone had posted a chart yesterday breaking down terrorist attacks by groups. Believe it was a DHS chart. I can’t find it today. Anyone have a link?
The almost decade-old memo described pressure cooker bombs as “a technique commonly taught in Afghan terrorist training camps.”
The 2004 memo mentions foiled plots in France, Nepal and Jammu, India. A series of seven pressure cooker bombs killed more than 200 people in India in 2006, during the Mumbai train attacks.
The idea is to plant the idea in the “minds” of as many as possible. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. Low information voters will remember.
When the truth comes out, the media NEVER retracts its unfounded accusations.
The left is salivating at the thought that it might be a “right winger.” If it is, the talking heads will never stop. If it’s the middle eastern death cult, they will warn us not to blame all the members of the cult cuz it’s really just a nice kind tolerant bunch of fun loving people.

They are presumably referring to folks who are occasionally arrested for illegal possession of homemade explosives, although I suspect you get all kinds of people being nabbed for this, presumably after being ratted out by concerned neighbors after one too many window-rattling experiments in the back yard. The reference to "extreme right-wing" is gratuitous, given that all kinds of people experiment with them as a hobby.

My thoughts exactly. Media has been directed to bury the known facts so there is more time to spread the right wing extremist narrative. Just as they did after the Benghazi incident.
What exactly IS an extreme-right-winger?! And when is the last time that an extreme-right-winger used a pressure cooker bomb for mass casualties?
And it is sure nice to know NOW that the pressure cooker bombs used on Monday were similar to ones used in the failed 2010 Times Square bombing.

Pressure cooker bombs like the ones authorities believe were used at the Boston Marathon have been used in attacks around the world for almost 40 years. Just two months ago, one exploded in a restaurant in Afghanistan, killing five people.
More recently, extremist Muslim jihadists have posted instructions on how to make them. Last month, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula included an article titled, "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of your Mom," in the latest edition of its "INSPIRE" Magazine propaganda. The article, reprised from INSPIRE's first edition in July 2010, included detailed, illustrated instructions on making pressure cooker bombs.
