Its Palm Sunday and the new Pope Francis I celebrated his first Palm Sunday Mass at the Vatican.
Yesterday the Pope warned the faithful of the tyranny of relativism;
(SNIP)
We are building a dictatorship of relativism that does not recognize anything as definitive and whose ultimate goal consists solely of ones own ego and desires. -Pope Benedict XVI
And I think by now we all know the pitfalls of setting goals based on Wons own ego and desires:
That reminds me, Big Guy finally wrapped up his Mideast tour yesterday with a visit to the ruins of the ancient city of Petra in Jordan:
Presidential motorcade to the ancient city of Petra
The metaphors just keep coming
The remains of the ancient Rose City were stunning. These columns are part of the ancient Treasury Building(SNIP)
BO posing in front of the antiquated Treasury; empty, abandoned, broke. Good practice.
Just one historical note, in case Big Guy decides to do the Holy Land next Easter season again. According to the scriptures, Jesus rode into Jerusalem ON a donkey, not well, you know:
(SNIP)
Are you insulting an Onager? onager subspecie (Equus hemionus kulan) or a Jackass!
The last words Obama hears might be “Thou art weighed, thou art found wanting, the Lord has numbered the days of thy kingdom and brought it to an end.....”
The entrance to Petra is too narrow for automobiles. The normal way to get in is to walk or ride a donkey.
Anybody thinking what I’m thinking? He did this on the Saturday before Palm Sunday?
Why no pix of him riding on an ass, the foal of an ass??? It was a kingly mount as far as the Jews were concerned.
that's not nice.....besides then we'd have Biden.....six of one, half dozen of the other
Isn’t that the place they filmed the final scenes from the third Indiana Jones movie?
Yes.
priceless!
The electorate chose... poorly.
LOL!
I feel sorry for all the tourists who couldn’t visit Petra because of O’s security. It’s usually packed with tourist.
