Blacks officials in the rapidly deteriorating city of Atlanta decided to sue rather than allow successful White “evacuees” to incorporate prosperous new cities in the Northern suburbs of Dekalb and Fulton counties.
For years government scandals, rackets, political corruption and charges of bribery have plagued a city which is becoming known as “The Detroit of the South,” all culminating in the threatened 2013 loss of accreditation for the Dekalb County School System. During that time, communities in the North Atlanta suburbs “…began the process of incorporating into cities,” with 6 having been carved out of the Atlanta hinterland by 2011 as hundreds of thousands of taxpayers were lost from the city's tax base. There are affluent Black suburbs of Atlanta that are so desirable that Whites don’t mind being the minority. Must be that Character thing MLK was talking about.
Just white people fleeing? Really? Would it be more accurate to simply say that people are fleeing corruption, cronyism and incompetence?
When we start with truth, we have a better chance of seeing the problems we face more clearly. After all we have been through together, it's childish trying to blame ideological and practical problems on what people look like.
It ain't the color of the computer hardware screwing up and causing problems, it's the buggy and corrupted software they're running that's causing the problems people are running from.
Drop the racial BS. We're all family and we're in this together. The only significant difference between us is our thinking. If we can change our thoughts to see this truth clearly, we change our lives for the better.

We first moved to Texas, to DeSoto, south of Dallas. A new subdivision, mostly white, a few blacks. After a few years, the good mature blacks were fleeing Oak Cliff into our area. Good families. Then of course, their kids brought in their “friends”, loud, cars, etc. Eventually, we left Texas for job in Ohio, but sold our house to an elderly black man sight unseen, who was also feeling Oak Cliff. IMHO, he didn’t move far enough south.

If you live in places LIKE Atlanta or Detroit, thanks to the Democrat Welfare Plantation Minority & Poor dependency thing, you’re probably on the same course to fiscal and cultural oblivion as Atlanta. My hometown of Cleveland comes to mind.

I think Buckhead is hosed because they are in the city limits of Atlanta. Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs and Milton are in Fulton County but not in Atlanta.
Now, if only Milton County could be reestablished, Cobb County would reclaim their boundries which include Roswell. Then Atlanta is really toast, Fulton County would lose a huge, affluent base of producers that they could no longer steal from.
I resemble that remark.
