All I know about Atlanta is they drive like maniacs.

I resemble that remark.

Basic Rules of Driving in Metro Atlanta

Rules for Driving in Atlanta

Construction signs tell you about road closures immediately after you pass the exit before the traffic begins to back up.

Speed limits (84.1 mph average on the Perimeter) are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions and apparently not enforceable in the metro area during rush hour.

Real Atlanta women drivers can put on pantyhose and apply eye makeup at seventy-five miles per hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Real Atlanta men drivers can remove pantyhose and a bra at seventy-five miles per hour in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

I seldom go further South than Roswell, but all that stuff is true.

And even in the rural areas there are idiots who insist on passing on no pass segments of the highway even when the slowpoke in front (me) is going the speed limit or a bit faster. Recently passed a head-on on US 53 between Gainesville and Dawsonville. Both drivers killed. So sad.

Me? I drive the speed limit (or slower at night or in the rain) and leave 3-5 seconds between me and the next car. I like to brake by taking foot off the gas and coasting down. My bad habit is listening to books on CD most of the time.
