Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is leading an online poll being conducted by Contract From America as the conservative pick for president in 2016.
With 190,000 votes cast as of Monday morning, Paul leads, with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio rounding out the top three. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are running in last place, ranked 32 and 31 respectively.
Contract From America (CFA) is a nonprofit conservative organization that promotes the Contract From America that was first drafted and embraced in 2010 by tea party Republicans.
CFA distributed the poll to tea party chapters and leaders, and conservative organizations across the country, and asked voters to choose their favorite candidate in 12 to 15 head-to-head match-ups featuring 32 possible candidates.
Rand Paul leads the poll, winning 80 percent of his match-ups, with Walker winning 76 percent and Rubio winning 73 percent.

Rand Paul has said he is seriously considering running. He is the only candidate that has said that and seems to have the real leadership skills to back it up. How is that desperate ? Rubio has had ethical problems in the past and seems less principled to me. People like who they like. At least we have 4 years to think it over. :)
Rand probably has some female appeal and frankly Rubio does, too.
Rubio is the new face of the GOP-E for sure and I’m watching to see what Rand Paul does next.
If Sarah endorsed him, that would be a sign but the GOP needs a housecleaning in 2014 with conservatives in primaries and third party candidates if insiders win the primaries.
NO MORE CONSERVATIVE VOTES FOR RINO’S.
RINO’S WILL ALLOW THE DEBT BUBBLE TO BURST BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF QUICKLY BALANCING THE BUDGET.
“New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are running in last place, ranked 32 and 31 respectively”
Thank you Jesus!
“Obama won the election and he gets to pick his cabinet.
Elections have consequences.”
Rand Paul could have had the balls to have voted not to confirm the bastard. Where do you come from that you don’t understand that simple fact?
“How is that desperate ?”
Rand Paul has shown us all that he didn’t fall far from the tree. I posted an example, so if you are for him, you must have been for his father as well, and therefore you aren’t worth my time.
Yes, I agree we at least have some time on this. NOT four full years as you say, but we have some time.
This guy is Not conservative in some ways. I know he has taken some very liberal position on some things. Just because he does a couple of good things does not mean he is a savior. Be real careful what you wish for.
Its the cats that are leaving the republican ship.. the rats are staying put.. by 2016 the cats will have fully left.. The republican RATS love the present situation.. and are optimistic..
By 2016 the republican party will have shrunk and “amnesty” will have insured any democrat of winning.. most any office..
The ships cats morale is in the dumps.. waiting for America to jump like a Lemming over the fiscal cliff.. The only way to kill the republican rats is to hope the ship sinks and drowns them.. With the offhand hope a torpedo scuttles that garbage barge ay “CPAC”... Except all the torpedos are not invited to CPAC... They are despised by CPACians..
“Maybe John Kerry and Chuckie the Crybaby Hagel can do more to hurt Obamas legacy than anything yet.”
Let us hope so. I do believe the Democrats, as they are on the juice so to speak will do the typical Democrat overreach trick, and snuff out their capital. It happens to them often. It’s part of who they are.
It doesn’t take a lot of balls to vote against kerry and hegel. I don’t fully agree with the votes but his explanation was reasonable. Kerry and Hegel were bad but the alternatives were much worse.
Rand Paul/Allen West 2016
Sounds good to me.
I agree the president should have some leeway in political appointments out of respect for the office and wouldn’t vote for Ron Paul for anything. The broad spectrum of public opinion is also clearly showing discernment in distinguishing between the legitimate candidacies of father and son.
Id like to be wrong about Paul. But after his daddy’s lunatic rants and having met some of Ron Paul’s long time money guys I’ll pass. Not jumping on board with that bunch.
I prefer somebody else but that just means the GOP needs to do better or I’ll just have to vote for Paul.
I’m female and of Hispanic ancestry-me and mine do not vote for democrats. Or wusses like Graham. No. More. McCain clones...
Interesting. If it came down to Rubio an Rand Paul who would you pick?
Rand Paul and Allen West
There is not nothing left but
armed revolution to
solve the problems in DC.
Waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too early.
I recall 2012....
Bachmann was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
Perry was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
Cain was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
Trump was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
Gingrich was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
Santorum was in the lead, for about 2 weeks or so.
And we saw how that all turned out.
Rubio’s resume is pretty thin. He has a lot of legislative/legal experience, entered government at age 28.
Sort of like the current occupant of the White House.
Rubio is short on executive experience.
And his amnesty-for-illegals push is not gaining him any favors. He is little more than a youngish McCainish bloviator.
