Lost Freepers: What ever happened to FReepers such as...

I miss her a lot. She had a fun side to her that was hard to beat (so I like mischievous posters, sue me).
Well, there has been for quite some time a series of linked anti-FReeper sites that have done whispering campaigns against FR.
And they have hurt us, pulled posters away, and turned friends into enemies.
And for what?
To sit in a section dedicated to trolling FR and giving each other high fives from a basement.
I have reduced, but not stopped entirely, my listening to Limbaugh.
My concern is that, despite claiming to have 20 million listeners, he hasn't been able to influence the last 3 elections: he didn't get Hillary Clinton elected in the 2008 primary, he didn't get McCain elected in 2008, and he didn't get Romney elected in 2012. He also has never worked to influence the GOP primaries in any way.
So, what good is he?
Levin, on the other hand, has great rants that are spot on. As Limbaugh's lawyer, I wonder if Levin will take Limbaugh's spot when Limbaugh eventually retires?

Fwiw, Westy passed away, notice was given by someone on the old thread long ago. I believe he was in his nineties at the time.
Current proprietor of the Undead Thread is yours truly.
I was given that task after sionnsar passed away.
And, I’m not as good at it as he was.
Plus, we don’t have very many suitable threads.
And, whatever connections he had in finding threads I don’t have.
Someone did confirm that westy passed away?
Last I knew before we wandered was that it had been a suspicion.
Derlly was older than I am, so I’m hoping it isn’t a repeat.

I could be wrong, but I think it was another poster from Washington state who worked at Boeing. She actually met him before he died.
I don't think it likely that happened to Derly, she was only early fifties, but you never know. I has phone number somewhere if you want to call her.......

He was a retired CBS News correspondent living in Florida. He started to write some original editorials here, but eventually got banned.

The other sites are the crumbs and leftovers from the grandmaster trollsite of them all, a place that was called Clown Posse.
Those other sites can trace their ideological lineage back to Clown Posse and a bunch of whiner drama queens who decided to storm off of FR in a huff and begin a campaign of smears, lies, and harrassment against FR and posters on FR.
They hit the Freeper Canteen thread and went after Tonk, they went after Laz, and they hit the Dimensional Doors/FReeoples thread where Sharkey, Nully and myself hung out with our merry band of misfits and merrymakers.

They did quite a bit of damage back then.
One of their talking points was that FR was milking money from people or doing some nefarious thing with the money.
Another thing they started that all similar sites have is a section dedicated solely to FR and obsessing about FR.
[Just telling you for your own good and pinging people I mentioned except for Tonk as he passed on shortly after some of the worst crap went down with Clown Posse.]
Another thing they started was that somehow because disruptors and trolls were banned instead of debated, that meant somehow that FR censored people.
[There was even a thread from waaaaaay back about it, I’ll have to dig it up. It was from 2004 if memory serves.]
Then they tried to apply it to the forum in general, forgetting that FR is a Conservative site and not a Republican site.
[Again, just filling you in on background here.]
I was a newb poster back then when much of this began.
And I watched the trolls tear apart people I cared about.
Drove some off the trhead.
They suckered some people that had previously been solid posters into being proxies for them, getting them to repeat the talking points and smears.
And that is how they stilloperate.
They sucker people into repeating the same tired old BS from anti-FReeper sites.
And then when the person repeating the talking points get banned, their handlers at the anti-FReeper sites go, “See! I told you FR was sinister.”
It’s like the movie SAW where Jigsaw suckers his victims into killing themselves.
Only this is the forum version where trolls sucker people into doing their bidding.
And it is an OLD game, since 2004 or so.
I know some coffee that can help...
