2013 is making it difficult to avoid one of Americas greatest sinsslavery. Weve just marked the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, and a plethora of films, documentaries and TV specials are scheduled to address slavery.

Then why do we talk about it constantly??
My advice is to take the money you have spent to buy a ticket to this farce and buy ammunition.

Because some people like to look upon it as a credit card with no debt limit. No matter how much penance is paid back, the demands for payout never stop.
Of course slavery was odious. Of course ending it was a good thing. However the U.S. was not unique in the institution (or in the corollary of racism), yet we seem to be uniquely hung up on it.
By 1865 America had written the 13th Amendment to the U. S. Constitution prohibiting slavery throughout the country. It took Americans less than 80 years (1787-1865) to outlaw slavery completely.
There are STILL countries that are thousands of years old that condone slavery to this day. So don't tell me that Americans are racist slavers. There is no other country that from the beginning embraced more diversity and fought harder for freedom.
Tarantino can suck it.
Then, by 1913, the re-instituted slavery with the Sixteenth Amendment.
If an authority has first dibs on your labors, you are a slave - or worse; a sharecropper in your own nation.
Slavery goes back before civilization to when man first domesticated animals. Hunters and subsistence planters don’t have enough work, or if they did no ability to easily catch nor keep people. Herders did, and it is they who inaugurated the institution. So, basically it has been around ever since it could be around, and hasn’t disappeared since.
Serf is better terminology, though their three days or so of work for the landlord probably added up to less than the burden on us.
Sad, but true!
Yeah. The Libyans in Lower Egypt that I mentioned, were enslaving other tribes from 8000 BC. (yay for Google) I didn’t use that date because there was no written record. But clearly, we are an amazing nation to have banned a practice so old and established in such a short amount of time. Amazing! And jack-wagons like Tarantino who bad mouth this country should be deported to places... like Egypt!
Slavery ended a long time ago. Get over it.
I’m 50% enslaved to the state. I either hand over 50% of my wages or I face being imprisoned.
Almost 5% of the slaves shipped from Africa to the New World were brought to the US and Canada. Clearly America deserves all the blame.
Sharecropper shows who be pickin' de cotton fo' who.
From the article: “Then theres the liberal use of the n-word in the film which many will find deplorable.”
I hear it in movies blacks produce and direct, I hear it in black music constantly, hell I even hear blacks call each other the word AT WORK. So why is it such a horrific act when QT or anyone else uses it?....................never understood that.
I never have to look much further than Orwell:
“All animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others.”
The U.S. still has slavery - human trafficking for the sex trade - without condoning it.
There are over 27,000,000 slaves in the world today, and not just in Muslim countries. Pastor Louie Giglio and the annual Passion Conference is very active in fighting human trafficking and other forms of slavery, which is why he was invited to give the inaugural benediction - before he was disinvited because he preached against homosexuality in 1995.
By April of this year, look for youth to be wearing t-shirts and baseball caps with a red 'x' on them that looks as if it was applied with a paintbrush. That signifies their support for the End It (Slavery) Movement.
