The National Rifle Association tells Politico it has signed up more than 100,000 new members since the Newtown school shooting, bringing the number of paid members to 4.2 million from 4.1 million. Our goal is to get to 5 million before this debate is over, the NRA told Politico.
A regular, one-year NRA membership is $35, a 5-year membership is $125, and a lifetime membership costs $1,000, which can be paid in installments.
NRA leaders were meeting Thursday with Vice President Joe Biden, who at President Obama's request, is heading a task force seeking legislative solutions to "gun violence."
The NRA is developing what it calls a "National School Shield," a model plan that includes arming and training qualified school security personnel.
CBS News reported that in an interview late Tuesday night, NRA President David Keene told Brooklyn GOP Radio that he thinks the Obama administration is being "disingenuous" in their approach to guns...

he's getting all his ducks in a row and I predict that he will link health care
to gun ownership. Yep, you heard that right. We were prepped today with a story
about how guns affect the health of MEN forty nine and younger.
How sad we need to exercise or rights (which should be a background) to preserve them.

Just renewed via Tom Gresham’s web site, so $10 is going to the 2nd Amendment Foundation, also.
Does anyone know how many members there are in the GOA, JPOF and any of other groups?
Just renewed for 5 years myself.
They are currently discounting a one-year membership to $25 and have discounts on the other levels of membership too.
I’ll be signing my wife and myself up for five year memberships online on January 19th: Gun Appreciation Day.
I renewed the day of the shooting, because I just knew what these clowns would do.
And just look at ‘em!
Kids tend to make priorities on your spending that do not include NRA memberships, but not today.
Anyhow, I’m back!
I renewed with the NRA a few days after Sandy Hook. It is money well spent.
They seem to be the only group that represents me in DC and I will be keeping my membership active until the sun explodes.
