I think they’re right.
Unless somebody starts organizing military opposition, they will just pick-off gun owners one-by-one, raiding one house at a time for those who don’t surrender.
They’re already prepared to kill for this.
This is my feeling too.
That likely is what some on the Left are thinking. The ones who can do math know better.
In the US, there are about 300,000,000 firearms in the hands of about 100,000,000 Americans. There are guns in roughly half of all American households. Law enforcement will get no resistance at some of those homes, They will get into firefights at others. They will likely kill the gunowners in those encounters, but they will also take their own losses. If every 10th raid kills a cop, the Left will run out of officers before they run out of targets. And this assumes universal cooperation from local and State law enforcement. In many jurisdictions, the Federal gun confiscation authorities will run into resistance wearing badges.
And this also assumes that their potential targets don't go after them first. Even if only 10% of American gunowners violently resisted disarmament, that's 10,000,000 guerrilla fighters spread out across the country. Imagine how screwed we'd have been had there been 10,000,000 Al Qaeda and Taliban waiting for us in Afghanistan. Now imagine them here. Now imagine them with a large part of their number having had proper military training. Now imagine them with a large part of our own military and law enforcement in sympathy with their cause. Now the Left's math goes from bad to awful.
Now, of course, our real concern in all of this is the fact that so few Leftists in this country can even do the simple math required to balance a checkbook.
They won’t have to kill anyone. It will be really smooth and easy. First they’ll ban the manufacture and sale of all semis. Then they’ll ban the transport of they above. You can have then you just can’t move or sell them. The final straw will be a 10 year manditoty federal crime to be caught off your property with a semi.
A prudent owner of multiple firearms had better be planning and dispersing them until the initial forays are over.

When that starts, your assignment is to find and terminate the highest ranking DemocRAT officials within your reach, the ones responsible for giving the orders.
Perhaps we can create a site map of the locations of RAT leaders, like the one that newsrag did on firearm licensees.
And being sniped by 30 or so neighbors with deer rifles and more who don't take kindly to raids on their friends. Conversations of this nature, and contingency planning are already being discussed in Firehouses, Granges, and feed stores across the county and I suspect across the country.
The government leftists severely mistake the innate Peacefulness and Goodness of workaday Americans for acquiescence.
I think the last thoughts the politicians, globalist banksters, and media shills pushing this will have as their necks snap at the end of a rope will be, "I had no idea..."

If the attempt is made at coordinated confiscations, news of it will spread like wild fire. Police will not do it if ordered to do so, nor will the military.
Some may initially, but reality will be more than they bargained for.
So are we. And some of us are very experienced, and quite good at it.
