On Hugh Hewitts radio show Thursday night, National Review columnist Mark Steyn, author of After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, said President Barack Obama gave an embarrassing performance Wednesday during his campaign swing through Las Vegas, Nev., in the wake of attacks on U.S. diplomatic stations in Libya and Egypt.
I thought that thing last night with the president saying he had a tough day and comparing the dead Americans in Libya to campaign supporters, which he did I thought was one of the most disgraceful, inept and embarrassing performances by a head of state or government that I have ever seen, Steyn said. Every American should be ashamed of their president.
Steyn didnt fault the president for going to Sin City, acknowledging that sometimes plans are in place and things have to move along. But the tone of Obamas remarks set him off.
He didnt script his remarks, Steyn said. I mean, this is a man, for example, who doesnt have, I think, great empathetic qualities at the best of times. But to slough it off in that bloodless language you know, when he says, now I believe this is a direct quote, Obviously, our hearts are broken today. If you say obviously before it, your heart is not broken. He said, Oh, its a tough day. Its not a tough day [for him]. Its a tough day for the families of the four people who were killed.
Steyn told Hewitt, the author of The Brief Against Obama: The Rise, Fall & Epic Fail of the Hope & Change Presidency, that Obama should have prepared better for that situation, given all the tools at his disposal.
Why cant you youre spending $4 trillion a year, and youve got these 12-year-old speechwriters youre so proud of, and youre the king of the prompter, why couldnt you on Air Force One, youre the only head of state in any major country who has a plane to fly him around his own country, and a 40-car motorcade while you were on the stupid plane, why cant you actually take the trouble to learn some words that would mean something and are appropriate to the occasion?
He compared Obamas performance to those of former President Ronald Reagan and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher after tragedies, reiterating his charge that Obamas remarks were something that should embarrass Americans of all political persuasions.
If you think of Reagan, after the space shuttle thing, if you think of what Mrs. Thatcher said after the Brighton bombing that killed cabinet colleagues of hers its horrible, its disgraceful, he said.
Nobody, no novelist would attempt to do anything so crass after this man is dragged through the streets after he is killed, dragged through the streets of Libya, God knows whats happened to him if you believe some of the worst stories out there. And then the guy goes to Vegas. Why not just do it at Caesars Palace with a bunch of showgirls? Every American whos watching, regardless if youre Democrat or Republican, if youre not embarrassed by the buffoon whos serving as President of the United States after that performance last night, theres something wrong with you.
Any chance you have a link to audio of this. I’d like to loop it on my phone at work. People need to hear stuff like this and few, if any, say it better than Steyn.
“...if youre not embarrassed by the buffoon whos serving as President of the United States after that performance last night, theres something wrong with you.
Amen to that!
If Obamas fecklessness and dithering prior to and after the embassy attacks and the murder of our diplomats doesn’t constitute high crimes and misdemeanors that would be grounds for impeachment then the Constitution is so much crap. Are we Americans anymore or mice?
If ir were a “R” candidate there would be hell to pay.
Because Obama would prefer the Chippendales.

Better link - thanks Vet
The saddest fact isn’t that Obama has acted shamefully in this hour of testing, it’s that the American people elected this cipher knowing full well what a perilous place the world is.
The excreta is about to hit the fan, and we have President ShamWow at the helm.
Can you imagine the comedians and news headlines of all these gaffes if Obama were a Republican?
As it is, the guy who runs Saturday Night Live still doesnt think there is anything but perfection in Obama and he cannot be parodied. lol
Ashamed? I loathe him from the very depths of my being.
Statements by BO and hill on the tarmac when the bodies were unloaded might as well have been read by computer voices.
They don’t give a damn.

Here is how Obama feels about ‘how he acts’. It is from 2008. Compare what he said to what is going on today.

The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised Meet The Press.
From Sundays 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised Meet the Press the THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.
General Bill Gann USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesnt follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...
During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, Stand and Face It.
NOW GET THIS !!Senator Obama replied:
As Ive said about the flag pin, I dont want to be perceived as taking sides. There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression.. The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing.
(ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???)
Obama continued: The National Anthem should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song Id Like To Teach the World To Sing. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. Its my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......
When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations of Islam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past.
Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Countrys First black Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America

about Obama and the flag pin, I can’t find that on Youtube anywhere. I don’t want to pass around stuff that is made up.
Nothing implied but does Youtube have a video of this?
I looked but did not find one.
