The reviews continue to pour in on Clint Eastwoods appearance at the Republican National convention Thursday night, and "mixed" might be a charitable way to put it. One prominent Republican, Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, said that he "cringed" at the performance.
An unattributed release from the Romney campaign defended Eastwood, according to The Wall Street Journal: "Judging an American icon like Clint Eastwood through a typical political lens doesnt work. His ad-libbing was a break from all the political speeches, and the crowd enjoyed it, the statement read.

Empty Chair means empty suit. It would have been over kill to have the suit there.
:-)
I spent 10 minutes listening to Rush from 12:15 to 12:25 (appx). on the way home from work and all he played were soundbytes from Mitt. Not a single one from Clint.
Actually that is good news. However, he went on to talk about Clint soon after.
Best comment on the thread!
If he had spoken at the DNC they would be raving at his performance.
And the RNC and FREEPERS would be tearing it apart. That is politics.
You stole my own observation.
That hadn't occurred to me, but I think it is very insightful.
However, I DO think Eastwood should have been scheduled on another night. He is drawing attention away from Romney. He should have been on Tuesday, with Ann Romney. I don't think we got much from Mrs. Romney, but Eastwood would have attrached more eyeballs and done a good job of demolishing Obama, to be followed on Wednesday and Thursday by Ryan and Romney saying what they were going to do different.
Also, it says a lot for liberal "tolerance" that few show people will publically admit they are Republican (country music seems an exception) until they are retired or practically so. Because they know it will be hard to find work after you've stood up as a republican.
I love him in Rawhide, which I watch daily on Encore Westerns, but I must admit Eric Fleming was much hotter than the young Eastwood.
took me a while, but I get it. “Over target, taking flak.”
If I knew how, I’d post a picture of an empty chair. That banner has to keep flying. Clint was awesome! The MSM is stuck between screaming about a Hollywood insider or protecting their precious little baby-boy O. Loving it!

“The chair has decided to follow Romney to Lousiana... “
Like I’ve said before-—the democrats and their asshat leader haven’t had an original idea in 3 years. He’s leading from behind once more.
I didn’t see it, but the video excerpts I’ve seen were all humorous.
I think Romney should have an empty chair follow him to every campaign stop to reinforce the visual.
LLS
So you have divined what I am and because I dont agree with a cool-aid drinker like you I am an Idiot? In my book Romney is a democrat, So if I was a democrat I would love the guy he is the policy twin of Obama.
