Our military planners are openly discussing how to kill "Tea Party extremists" who have taken over a small town in the USA. Is this "operational lay-down" merely a "cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario," as described by The Washington Times, or is it something much more malevolent?
The military scenario appears in the July 25, 2012 issue of the respected Small Wars Journal and posits that, while Obama will be thrown out of office in 2012, ten years of race- and immigrant-bashing by "right-wing demagogues" will have whipped white Americans into gang-like attacks on non-whites.

More on the Small Wars Journal's insanely provocative essay, which imagines that the US Army will need to be sent into the South to crush an uprising by The Evil White Racist Tea Party Militia.
Let’s turn this media and liberal fueled fantasy: After ten years of race- and immigrant-bashing by “right-wing demagogues” will have whipped white Americans into gang-like attacks on non-whites.”
Into this REALITY: After ten years of race- and immigrant-BAITING by “lwft-wing politicians and the drive-by media”
HAVE whipped black Americans into gang-like attacks on non-blacks.
And if its gang-like attacks on Whites by Non-Whites, it will be ignored and rationalized away. Likewise, don’t see any wargaming on deal with OWS types taking over part of a city or town (which is the more likely scenario).
Busy morning, eh?
The Democratts have been planning for war against Americans since they ran research on how much of the US military would be willing to fire on Americans (20% plus). Waco was part of the same trial balloon, with foreign military participation (UK airforce).
Long unbroken line of planning.
Many politicians, and top military, have seen in the nations citizens as much of an enemy as any foreign military.
Let's face it, the nations citizens have as many firearms as a lot of foreign military organizations.
The Gadsen flag is going to become more of a reality as time goes on.
Small Wars Journal has no connection to the military and it’s authors are not currently active military.
That said, this guy Benson appears to be a real piece of work and I’m there are active military who think like him:

Getting to the last paragraph, I found that the author did indeed make that very clear, and he goes on to say something we all need to hear:
"we must reinforce and broadcast to the world that violence is not the answer .... just as Tea Partiers effectively quashed the allegations of racism, we must police our ranks to insure that no one countenances anything even remotely close to what the Alinsky-inspired left is goading us to do."
Why a second civil war instead of a second revolutionary war? I don’t see the parallels for a CW2.
When a nation tears itself apart in war, it’s a civil war.
You can debate whether it’s also an insurrection, a rebellion, a restoration, a revolution or a counter revolution.
But it’s a civil war.
I would bet this weeks paycheck that there has been a LOT of requests to ISP’s across the country to locate certain internet posters.
Not exactly targeting Tea party just yet unless the agency finds a “stolen” cache of 500 pounds of ANFO at a Tea party gathering.
First they will do small surgical strikes upon internet posters at selective forums where the fishing is guaranteed to have a catch for them.
And then it will be dirty laundry time against the Tea Party, rumors will spread of nefarious acts and the MSM will get its waters chummed by DHS to get anti-sentiment built.
The second stage of course mandates a massive campaign to paint the Tea party as anti-American radicals, seditionists, persons of lesser mental capability. Of questionable mental capabilty and animal abusers, especially the ones that mistreat the soft cute defenseless kittens.
Calling it CW2 infers a connection to the first civil war. The revolutionary war was also a nation tearing itself apart so by your definition it was also a civil war. If one had the desire to make a connection between a past conflict with a theoretical future conflict I think it would be wise to connect it with the revolutionary war rather than the civil war.
I don't see any motivation here.
..which could work until the "progressive" areas run out of money and came demanding to be "bailed out"..
I don’t see armed conflict as part of America’s final reckoning before we fall as the World’s Superpower and re-organize. Rather, I see lengthy legal battles as a couple of southern states make moves to establish their own independence. Skirmishes may come about when they grant their people and businesses the “State” right to quit paying Federal taxes. The “State” will have to agree to defend it’s citizens from Federal enforcement and that’s where some skirmishes will break out.
The loss of the two states from the current political turmoil will upset the balance of voting power in the electorate and will cause further denegration of a civil society. As others consider sessesion, violence between citizens may break out. But the legal battles will divide and eventually become the unduing of our nation, not the killing in an all out civil war.
...And those are my thoughts on the worst case scenario.
Will the House Armed Services Committee have the cajones to hold hearings on this?
Sadly I suspect not.
In my opinion the US armed forces would not fight against other Americans. They would lay down their arms first! The military is sworn to first uphold the Constitution and second obey all LAWFUL orders.
Second, the US military does not have sufficient forces here in CONUS at this time to win against a fully armed citizen insurrection of all armed Americans. It would be horrible and bloody, but the Army is not large enough to suppress a determined American citizenry. And remember, many of us are trained veterans, too..... However, if the administration plans to use police and unions or UN Armed Forces, that could change the numbers significantly.
I just hope the Administration is not stupid enough to try that.
Respected? By whom?
When TSHTF, against whom will we be defending ourselves? What preemptive strike would eliminate or reduce the danger?
