"I think, first of all this must seem odd to people in other countries that we view our Constitution as if it was written by God himself. That it was somehow, through some sort of divine intervention or whatever, it was etched in stone like Moses and the tablets. And because what they thought was right in 1776 to 1789, that is the way we have to live today in the 21st century," Michael Moore said on the Tuesday night broadcast of CNN's "Pier Morgan Tonight."
"I mean, we wouldn't go to a doctor and have him put leeches on us to suck the blood out of us because that would cure us, that's what they did, you know, a 150 years ago," Moore also said.
"We've kind of evolved," Moore said.

slander, libel, treason, sedition, false witness, and incitement to riot are not protected speech.
Michael Moron’s sainted terrorists in Iraq LOST. The US did NOT leave bloody with our tail between our legs as he professed we would and should leave.

>>The US Constitution created the greatest and most prosperous nation in history by simply giving people the inalienable rights...<<
Excuse the correction, but the Constitution gives no one any rights at all. It enumerates certain rights and specifically prohibits the government from infringing on those rights while reserving all other possible rights to the people or to the states.
The notion that the Constitution ‘gives’ anyone rights is extremely dangerous because it leads s#itheads like Michael Moore to believe that they can eradicate our rights with the stroke of a pen. A task that is made all the easier when people on our side enable that kind of thinking.

Not much difference between the rants of Michael Moore and Axis Sally. She was convicted of treason after WWII.

"I mean, we wouldn't go to a doctor and have him put leeches on us to suck the blood out of us because that would cure us, that's what they did, you know, a 150 years ago," Moore also said. Actually leeches are still used efficaciously in some cases today.

Feed him to the hogs. Better toss in some Lipitor too. You don't want the poor little piggies dying from a high cholesterol diet.

Moore should just move to Greece or France.
To: Sir Napsalot
Of course our Constitution does not tell us how we have to live - it prevents self- appointed dictators like Moore from doing so. I suspect that’s his real problem with it.

From the Declaration of Independence:
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governedThe Constitution lays out the terms under which we consent to be governed. If it's no longer binding on the Federal Government, it's no longer binding on us either.
The Constitution is to protect us from the Government, and by the same token, to protect the Government from "we the people."
They'd better be careful about denying its continued validity.

nd because what they thought was right in 1776 to 1789, that is the way we have to live today in the 21st century,"
Moore is showing his fascism here. The Constitution addresses this very thing in that it provides a mechanism by which it can be modified and even replaced.
Heck, even Thomas Jefferson said that there should be a new Constitutional Convention every 20 years/generation or so. That it's STILL our governing document is a result of two things, the good one being that at it's core is still the worst way of doing things ... except for every possible alternative and the bad one being that due to the duplicitous philosophy of it being a "living document" it's been stretched out of all proportion and interpreted to the point where most Americans don't feel any desire to change it.
If Moore doesn't like the Constitution, he's more than welcome to put his money into convincing people of the need to change it through the appropriate means ... rather than on ham sandwiches, donuts and Ho-Hos.
To: Sir Napsalot
This doesn't surprise me. Liberals reject the very concept of principles. They will occasionally speak of them, but only for the sake of political gain.

Our Founding Fathers had seen their Colonies go from freedom to what they considered oppressive tyranny in about 40 years. They designed the Constitution to prevent something like that from happening again.
