Romney… Stand Up, Or Stand Down!
skipmaclure.us ^ | July 7 2012 | Skip MacLure

I’m seriously conflicted. I’m beginning to have flashbacks to the presidential race of 2008. There are some disturbing parallels between the candidacy of the hapless John “you can’t do it my friend” McCain and the present candidate, the anointed of the Washington Republican Establishment. It’s akin to the feeling I got when I realized that George Bush was anything but the conservative he positioned himself to be.

Americans have been watching with an almost preternatural intensity as this all too real drama plays out on our national stage. Mitt Romney ran for the nomination of the Republican Party like a junkyard dog… destroying candidate after candidate and devil-take-the-hindmost. It was readily apparent that he didn’t much care where the bottom of the swamp was either. Though many of us disliked his tactics… and they were short, brutal and to the point, we salved ourselves with the thought… “just wait for the campaign this summer and fall, Romney will chew up Obama and spit him out, we’ve got a tiger in our tank”.

Readers will remember that I was never that high on Romney. I saw the potential millstone that ‘Romneycare’ presented to the Republican effort to oust the Marxist Obama, as unfair as it may be. ‘Romneycare’ as it has been dubbed is, and was, nothing compared to the utter devastation that will be Obama’s legacy to this country should the healthcare law not be overturned.

Mitt Romney’s attempt to bring sanity to Massachusetts health care costs, through a state mandated health care system, was admirable in its aims. Romney should have known it would have been vulnerable to a Democratic state legislature which couldn’t wait to turn the law into a tax-and-spend opportunity, which was then followed by the election of a liberal Democrat governor after Romney’s departure who turned the law into something totally different than its original intent. What Romney did was to remediate some of the state’s onerous health care regulations. What Barack Hussein Obama has done is to enslave an entire nation to the false gods of liberal governance.

Romney has got to start listening to some different advice. From what I’ve observed, he should dump his advisers now. Whoever advised Romney to allow photo ops from ‘The Boathouse’ and ‘The Monster’ speed boat while the Anointed One is out campaigning, schmoozing senior citizens and sucking down brewskis with constituents, should be in some other line of work… period.

Romney has lost his nerve… or someone high up in his campaign has. Running from the fight is serving none of us well. No incumbent president since Jimma’ Boy Cata has been as vulnerable as Barack Obama. What’s infuriating me and many other patriots, at least according to the comments we get, and we get a bunch… Romney wants us to trust him to bring this country out of the darkness that is this ‘depression’. He wants us to fight for him. When is he going to fight for us?

Why can’t he attack obama the same way he did all the real conservatives in the primary?

Because the conservatives and Republicans are his ENEMIES. Obama is one of his own. A liberal progressive, like he is, but wearing the blue jersey.

From the notes accompanying the video:

"Now despite jews making up only 2% of the US population, they are the only religion that gets away with everything. They draw up hate laws that protects them from criticism. They've taken over the Supreme Court with 4 of the 9 judges being jewish. That's almost 50%. Elena Kagan is an unqualified jewish lesbian who never practiced law or was ever a lawyer or judge. She received "honorary" Harvard degrees. It was she that replaced our last WASP supreme court judge, Justice Stevens, who stayed on an extra 8 years despite being in his 80's because of how dangerous the Bush adminstration was. Little did he know the same forces behind Bush are basically the same behind Obama."

You are obviously a hard core liberal masquerading as a Republican or a sore looser. ROMNEY WAS THE CHOICE OF THE REPUBLICAN VOTERS IN THE PRIMARY. What is your point.

You want to see a hard core liberal masquerading as a Republican? Well, here you go:

Mitt Romney’s Dismal Record

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.

* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.

* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.

* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.

"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.

In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Romney's "accomplishments".

1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA

2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA

3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly

4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA

5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.

6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming

7. Supported the Brady Bill

8. Implemented a state level “Assault” Weapons Ban after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.

9. Supported TARP

10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)

11. Supported McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty)

12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions.

13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers.

Now why don't you go ahead and tell me what part of that record you support? Show me any part of that record that makes Mitt Romney a Republican, let alone, a conservative. Give me one good reason that I should give a hard core liberal my vote, to remove another hard core liberal from office.

Just what on earth do you think we'll accomplish by electing a stealth Democrat like Romney? If you think he's going to reverse anything that Obama's done, you've seriously been had.

Oh, give it a rest, already.

A Massachusetts FReeper (I forget who) was posting on one of these threads just the other day, how when he switched jobs, he a) had to wait a certain period because of this law before hiring on to another company, and b) was FORCED to buy insurance at the cost of $1500 a month for a family of four, totalling to $3,000 paid for a two month period which purchased exacty ZILCH, as the family had no medical needs during that time.

People, that's three thousand dollars for two months. I don't know about you, but that's not chump change in my budget. All flushed right down the toilet. By force -- for his own good, dammit!

Arrogant, condescending, elitist Romney presumes that the government is a better guide than the individual when it comes to their own health care responsibilities.

Screw Romney and the damned donkey he rode in on.

Voting for Romney is as nuts as voting for Obama. And down deep, just about all of us know it.

I don’t know what the comments read, as I did not read them. I did watch the video however, earlier, and it is a powerful vid relating to what and how the KGB and the USSR propaganda was handled. Regardless of which side one is, it is quite informative.

“Mitt must lose So Obama can be taught a lesson...

Son, the fast ones go right over your head. You're built too low. You got a hole in your glove.

No, statism must lose so we can keep our freedom.

You're risking a landslide for Romney. If that happens, you can kiss convervatism goodbye as any force in the Republican party. But Obama frightens you more?

STAND AND FIGHT with your franchise. Voting for Romney is running away. There is no "teaching a lesson" here. School's over.

Aren’t you at all concerned with Romney’s record? I mean, that’s what you’d end up voting for. You don’t get to just vote “against” Obama — you have to also vote FOR something.

I am in the middle of listening to it now. It is a very interesting commentary on life in the USSR by a fellow with much experience there, but nothing about the video has yet inspired me to begin campaigning for Mitt Romney.

Of course, there is still another 30 minutes . . .

That top picture, the “...we’re about to nominate the one who invented Obamacare!” comic, gets to me. It is exactly what I have been saying to myself. How crazy can people be? But what really gets me is that there are people who don’t see anything insane about it.

I just figured out the easy way for Romney to kill Obamacare if he can’t get it repealed.

All Romney needs to do is issue exemptions to every state that filed a law suit against it. Obama has already exempted various states, so add some more exemptions.

Them order the IRS not enforce the Obamacare laws, the same way Obama ordered ICE not to enforce the immigration laws.

Obama has already destroyed the rule of law, so nullify everything that Obama did and move on, back to the constitution and the rule of law.

Not so much for recuitment for romney.

Rather methods and techniques of using useful idiots and strategy to push a particular line.

I bet you all will be dancing in the streets when your Obama wins.

No, and if Romney wins in a landslide, you would be just stupid enough to dance in the streets, I bet. By this time next year, you'd be slinking off red-faced as FReepers anquished over the complete overpowering of conservative Republicans in Congress, and the steady advance -- under the hand of Romney with moderate Republicans and Democrats -- all the crap and worse of what you feared in Obama. Just like we warned you. Don't you even know where the hell Romney stands on that UN crap with regard to environmentalism? Come on! Buy a clue!

You are as dim and skittish as a domestic chicken.
