Now that the State Primaries are almost completed, it is important to ask if Moderate Mitt from Mass. has proven himself to be able to beat unqualified, incompetent, arrogant, Marxist Obama?
The RNC made the Primary Campaign rules, and so the RNC can change those same rules. No Federal Regulator will be involved, 'I guarantee it.'
IF Romney has only a slight chance to win in November, THEN it is incumbent upon the RNC to DUMP Romney and choose a stellar Dark Horse, such as Rep. Allen West from Florida.
Nominee Allen West would nullify Obama's race card, attack Obama"care" without the baggage that Romney brings with Romney"care," be an unquestioned Conservative, be cleaner than a hound's tooth, be smarter than all known economists, solidly receive the pro-Military vote, and be the automatic favorite son of the key State of Florida.
Romney would have to really struggle to beat Allen West for the Nominee position in an OPEN Convention in Tampa.
The State Primaries were a test run, and Romney showed us that he is a weak Candidate to beat Obama, the most flawed Democrat ever to run for re-election to the most powerful job in the World.
So, in the spirit of Jim Robinson's Truce, 'Mom, Fourth of July, and Apple Pie,' let us put forth our ideas to help Romney succeed in spite of himself!
Agreed, it is a daunting task for an etch-a-sketch, mealy-mouthed, Moderate to confront the REALITY of actually losing to Obama, but if Romney can't change between now and August then he doesn't deserve the RNC Nomination.
BTW, The GOP-Elite are part of the problem, NOT part of the solution.
The only way to stop Romney is to stop him from spending money. Money is what got him there and money will keep him there.
Since money is ‘free $peech’, you can kiss any future conservative nomination goodbye.
That said, it would be great to have a conservative, moral choice, but the time has passed. Unless changes His mind and starts rigging the elections process, Romney is the other choice.
I agree. This idiocy is what has turned this once stellar forum from serious, intelligent discussion to the unhinged ramblings of cranks and petulant children totally divorced from reality.
Because Romney will likely be a MUCH, much better candidate than McCain. McCain was a HORRIBLE candidate, politically. A DISASTER in his debates with Obama. Romney will be much better.
Furthermore, Obama basically ran against Bush, who was very unpopular. Bush ain't running this time. This time the bad economy will be on Obama. There is no magic, no pizzazz, this time for Obama. But there IS a HUGE case of "buyer's remorse" among a lot of those who voted for Obama last time.
Those are reasons why I think, realistically, Romney can beat Obama.
Mr. RomneyCARE is a presumptuous backstabbing liberal
who should be running in the DNC, were he honest.
Frankly, I’m bored with your posts.
Romney is the GOP nominee, -I’m not a fan of either him OR the GOP but I’m voting for him & pulling the lever without a whiff of regret other than the fact that trash like Hussein is in the oval office in the 1st place
“What will Romney have to do to keep from being DUMPED in Tampa?”
He needs a brain transplant from a smart person.
Jim's truce applies on this thread, IF your manners are spotless, IMHO, and of course, Jim's Opinion
They have decided that JR's truce was a surrender of FR to Mitt and anyone who disputes his ascent to the throne must be destroyed....but you probably know that. ;0)
Virgil Goode-2012!
"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"
"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"
"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"
"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"
"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"
No, but with 1076 delegates already, and no primary opposition remaining, he will easily have the number required. It isn't even going to be close. Romney is going to have so many more delegates than he needs that even the slimmest hopes of a contested convention (which weren't realistic anyway) are completely dashed.
Romney is going to be the Republican candidate. Deal with it. Political reality is what it is. Trying to pretend there is any chance of preventing Romney from being the nominee is just silly at this point.
GW-We have to be practical.Romney has the $$$ and the momentum.Col West is a good man but he doesn’t have a snowballs chance in h@ll of winning the election.Romney will be the nominee whether you or i like it or not.I was very impressed with Herman Cain. What about West as VP?How bout Cain or Palin as VP?
The more conservetive Tea Party branch is continuing to grow within the party. It's going to take some time to get there. Some believe this can and will happen over night....no way. Look how long it took the left wing kooks to invade the democrat party. We are on the right track but we must stop the self destructive behavior that currently drives some of our party.
Mitt's an east coast moderate but he is a million times better than giving the radical sycophant communist another four years to destroy our country. Keep the House, take the Senate and we will control our destiny.
The House and Senate are the keys to the machine.....spend time getting conservative congressmen elected and everything else will follow. This crap of destroying Romney is either insanity or liberals acting like conservatives. The horse is out of the barn.....time to unite and take down the fraud that is destroying everything we hold important for our country, our families and our future.
Good grief! Dream on, pal.
Just make sure you vote the right way on Nov. 6th.
Personally, I am not, and will not vote for Romney. That said, he has to be the nominee. He won the primaries that’s all there is to it. If by some parliamentary chicanery the RNC were to choose another candidate the message to voters would be simple: Don’t bother, we know what’s best for you.
The idea itself is evocative of the Communist Party or the Nazi Party, where the party itself was more powerful than the sum of it’s individual leaders.
JBH
Powell is a loathsome hypocrite. He’s voting for Obama anyway.
He would be a turnoff on the ticket.
Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored with all the pathetic, repetitive, sanctimonious anti-Romney posts.
That’s why I don’t come here as much as I did in the previous 15 years of my membership here.
It is only trailing wisps of its former glory.
I agree Altura
I agree with you. I hope there is a revolution at the convention. The GOP establishment are worse than the Dems/commies becuase the GOP is supposed to be conservative, whatever that is supposed to mean nowadays. Nothing, I guess. How about Constitutionalist?
