Dick Gregory on Trayvon, Zimmerman and parallels with Atlanta’s missing and murdered children

Mounting evidence has begun to disprove the assertions of George Zimmerman in his version of what happened when he fired a hand gun into the chest of Trayvon Martin. The shot mortally wounded Martin and speculation abounds over the reason why Zimmerman would shoot an unarmed black teenager.

Comedian and humanist Dick GregoryDick Gregory told Allvoices in an exclusive interview in Sanford, Florida, last week that he believes George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin as an act to gain “admittance into some paramilitary or semi-police fraternal order.”

When asked about his comment Mr. Gregory said, “It’s nothing new. They have been killing black boys for a long time.”

Gregory has been a longtime supporter of the theory advanced by James BaldwinJames Baldwin in Baldwin’s 1985 essay, “The evidence of things not seen,” that some racist- based group was behind the Atlanta missing and murdered children crisis that occurred in the late 1970s and into the early 1980s. Atlanta authorities arrested and convicted Wayne Williams, a black music promoter and independent journalist, for two of the adults who had been murdered and they closed the book on 23 of 28 other murders with the belief that Wayne Williams had acted alone in those cases as well.

Baldwin contended that as late as the summer of 1981 the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was investigating a Klansman named George Sanders. An informant had told police Sanders stated the killer had “…wiped out a thousand future generations of Ni***rs.” (See AP, August 5, 2005).

The informant later testified in court that Sanders told him, “The KKK was creating an uprising among the blacks; that they were killing the children, and that they are going to do one each month until things blow up.” Things were about to blow up when a day care center which catered to black children literally exploded. Atlanta’s black community, frustrated with no end to the disappearance and murder of its children in sight became angry. The city’s first black mayor, Maynard Jackson, reported that the day care center’s boiler had explored. He asked the city to remain calm, offered a million dollar reward for information leading to the capture of the person or persons responsible for the missing and murdered children and within weeks Wayne Williams had been targeted for arrest. To this day no one has come forward to claim the million-dollar reward.

The informant testified that Sanders had “threatened to strangle one of the children, Lubie Geter, because Geter ran into Sanders’ car with a go-cart. Geter was later strangled and Williams was blamed for his death, though never charged. (See the Houston Chronicle, October 9, 1991)

Gregory believes the Klan was killing black boys in Atlanta 30 years ago and that Trayvon Martin’s death may be connected to a ritual or initiation into a paramilitary outfit for George Zimmerman.

Dick Gregory, who has been on a fast since the execution of Troy Davis by the State of Georgia on September 20, 2011, said the Martin shooting would have been swept under the rug if not for what he calls “the black press,” that is, African American journalists employed by mainstream media. The shooting death had occurred three weeks before the story gained traction in the national media.

“This is a wake up call to the nation, what happened here is no different than what happen to Emmitt Till or Troy Davis. It’s time to put an end to the murder of our children and the key(s) to that are the black woman and the black church. It is time for the black woman to stand up and say enough is enough, and time for the black church to reclaim the moral authority it once had,” Gregory said.

We are perhaps days away from a decision from the Special Prosecutor on whether she will file charges against George Zimmerman, but as in the Atlanta Child Murders two decades ago, the black community is in an uproar, with one group, the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, calling for vigilante action. They have posted a “wanted dead or alive” poster and issued a $10,000 reward for the apprehension of George Zimmerman.

All of which has taken the nation’s mind off a dismal Republican presidential primary in its desultory quest to select a candidate capable of beating the nation’s first black President in November.

Gee, it seems to me that mounting evidence has begun to buttress the assertions of George Zimmerman and to undermine the crazy speculations that abounded. Notice that even this author is saying that Trayvon was shot in the chest, not in the back or the back of the head as some folks wildly surmised.

One thing that shows this is the fact that after all that has come out with witnesses and physical evidence supporting Zimmerman's account of the moments before the shooting, major magazine publications continue to run a four year old picture of Trayvon. Question: why? Answer: because a school picture of a sweet looking 13 year old will sell more copies than a tattooed 17 year old flipping the bird.

That’s true about the left’s overreach. obama has now opened himself up for legitimate criticism when he doesn’t publicly weigh in on any black on white crime. Every black criminal “could be obama’s son” since he based the potential paternity on skin color.

I was on a plane with “Dick” a few years back, he sat across the aisle from me and a coworker in the first class cabin, my buddy can’t stand him, remember when he was going on hunger strikes to attempt to get his way, well after about 10 minutes of flying, having heard enough of his spew, my friend asked him if he could justify being in first class being a communist racist? a good question, obviously to provoke a reaction, “Dick” squirmed a bit and did not answer, then the whole cabin started giving him Cr%$, the guy next to him said, come on leave him alone , he was on a hunger strike for a week to get this seat...it was brutal, but very funny..

I got into a fight about 20 years ago here in New York city, the liberal sphincter hole of the east coast, where 2 liberals didn’t like my conservative bumper stickers on my car, like Vote for Bush and 2nd Amendment stickers, and they sucker-punched me through my open drivers side window while I sat in my car (because that’s how liberals fight) and they broke my nose.

At first my nose bled like a sonofabitch, would not stop. Then I went to the hospital and they X-rayed it and confirmed it was busted but said the best thing was to leave it as the bones would heal on their own.

Well after the bleeding stopped (by putting cotton balls up my nostrils) all that remained was my nose was a little swollen and red.

But the next day? Holy cow! My eyes swelled so much I could barely see out of them, and the skin around them turned almost black!

I mention all this because in the police video Zimmermans nose looks normal. But what they don’t show you is how he looked the next day which this neighbor is describing.

I assume this will all come out, photos and everything if he was smart enough to take photos.

Where is the outrage? The years of leftist and MSM slanting and ignoring certain aspects of crime, has taken it's toll. George Orwell forecast the horror of being able to hold two conflicting views at the same time. In these cases while people maybe aware of equally horrible- or worse crimes against white victims, they hold this view. That it is more horrible,and punishable, if the black or minority is seemingly the victim.

I found myself humming the Billy Joel piece that was being played over the loudspeaker in the local coffee shop. "We didn't start the fire" a coverage of names in the news over the period, 1949-1989.

Going to Google and there he was - Bernie Goetz. In 1984 after being mugged and assaulted by young black men, he spent more time in the precinct than one of the perps. It was waived off and minimized. Later on a subway ride, four young blacks approached him. He shot all four of them and they survived. One was tragically crippled.

You and other Freepers may be better up on this case than myself. Since I intially thought, Goetz was a Wall Street broker, but remember the case at the time. Still, the furore and the debates raged at the time. Goetz served about nine months, but was in protective custody all that time.

The crap of young black men and any young men causing a reign of disquiet at best and at worst sheer terror, must stop.

Blacks are busy exterminatng themselves.

If they had to have one black parent to be considered black, there would barely be 10 million blacks left in the US, and nearly half of those are born in Africa.

Now, if he would get into how 13% of the population commits 52% of all murders and also kills many more of its own than all other races together, he might be on to something.

Yep. But since a sizeable majority of murderers in that 13 % of the population are younger adult males and older teens, he would really be on to something if he included only these.

I wonder why those haven't been released, must be some privacy issues.

If I were Zimmerman I would want them shown to the public as soon as possible.

Of course all of this is just being pushed by the MSM to attack the 2nd Amendment and to disarm us so we cannot resist these attacks by thugs, like in the recent London riots.

IIRC, Dick Gregory was really big in the whole "CIA ran Crack into the cities to kill Blacks" thing in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The situation that became so explosive that the DCI actually debased himself and his organization by holding a town-hall meeting in South Central to address the allegations.
