Current TV said Friday afternoon that it had terminated the contract of its lead anchor Keith Olbermann, scarcely one year after he was hired to reboot the fledgling channel in his progressive political image.
Mr. Olbermann did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Current indicated that he had failed to honor the terms of his five-year, $50 million contract, giving the channel the right to terminate it.
In a letter to viewers, the channel said Friday, We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet. We are more committed to those goals today than ever before. Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.

“Just where do you go from Current TV?”
Al Jazeera might hire him. He’d be a good mouthpiece for the muzzies...
.
Nah nah nah nah hey hey hey goodbye! Keith Overbite, you’ve been FIRED!!! And the best part, is Bill O’Reilly is still making tons of money and so is Rush Limbaugh, they are both on the air dominating, and you are not!! It is GOOD to be on the winning team, the GOP!!
Zero already has a media czar........
American taxpayers will save quite a bit of spare change from czar salaries if Zero is sent back to Chicago in November.
Liberals just have too much money, which allows them to squander it with such ease.
I hope the idiot sues the crap out of Current, gets more of their money, then uses his money to put on his own show to enable him to end up broke as the Ten Comandments a year from now.
His next gig...the home shopping network But real question...who on the left did he piss off to fall this far. Why did they turn on their golden boy they loved so much..I do recall he had a fit about the obamacare must buy mandate..(he wanted it free)...
Kieth has hit the bottom LOL
He’ll turn up on NYC public access cable next! LOL

I can’t stop laughing.
Kieth has hit the bottom LOL
He’ll turn up on NYC public access cable next! LOL
I hope Current TV goes the way of Air America.
I Checked DUh, they are all on suicide watch and say he will post his side of the story on Twitter soon...
Is this true? Maybe Current TV will hire Kathleen Parker also.
She deserves it.
AL Jazeera might be less liberal...
I get CCTV4 out of China on FiOS and it might be less liberal than Current too.
“When you are paying a demented Leftist $50 million for a viewership of 10 people you know the people paying him are insane in the membrain(sic), too!”
Yes, but don’t you see how much sense it all made to the Current TV progressives when they hired him. On the right network, headed by Algore, viewers would flock to hear Olby’s snide, spittle-laced, vicious, bitchy rants so they could affirm their own highly superior morality over us knuckledragging imbeciles.
The simple truth is, that besides Olby obviously being an incorrigible prima donna and an even bigger jerk in general, the average normal person just does not enjoy sneering, preachy, negative ranting day after day. By stark contrast, Rush Limbaugh is almost always sort of jovial, always pointing out the hilarity of just how ridiculous the left is. He doesn’t have to be nasty. His criticism is presented in the form of cogent, reasoned arguments, not personal malicious attacks. That’s why, in 24 years on the radio, he apologized exactly once with Ms. Fluke because it was a departure from his personal rule not to attack people on such a personal level.
Back to Olbermann: hopefully this is just one more stop on his way toward total obscurity, please G-d.
Current is betting on Spitzer’s track record in hopes he will draw a viewer.
LOL. That’s good.
do the words “no loss” come to mind
I can hardly wait!
