I don’t think they’d just suspend a student looking to steal hundreds or thousands of dollars.
I completely agree about the media portrayal of Zimmerman, but I don’t think you need to investigate Martin’s background to show that he was acting suspiciously. I also think that those who are convinced Zimmerman was a bad actor or a racist should take a deep breath and acknowledge that it is possible to be acting in a way that appears suspicious even when you are doing nothing wrong.
Consider this: it’s been reported that Martin’s cell phone conversation was over a bluetooth earpiece. Have you ever seen somebody on a bluetooth, but not seen the earpiece? They look crazy. And Zimmerman certainly, under a hood and in the rain, could not have seen Martin’s earpiece.
Think about it: a teenager, shuffling around (as teens do) apparently muttering to himself. How would that look? Maybe “like there’s something wrong with him...on drugs or something”?
Many acquaintances of both have described them as decent, friendly, good people.
It is perfectly rational - and fits all the known facts - to believe both that Martin was a basically good kid who clearly does not deserve to be dead, but that Zimmerman committed no crime. There was a truly tragic sequence of events involving poor judgment on the part of both people. Why do so many insist on trying to prove that one or the other was some kind of menace?
I agree with you, in regards to Trayvon. But I’ve learned, when dealing with people who are an unknown quantity, as George would have considered Trayvon, the best way to deal with him is inform him, from a distance that the cops were on their way and that you’re only there to observe and nothing more.
According to the father, Tracy, he was suspended because he was in an unauthorized area on school property. Don’t know what that means and the father wouldn’t say any more.
I agree with that. We know from the account of Martin’s girlfriend that it was Martin who initiated the conversation with Zimmerman, and the best way to deal with people who are an unknown quantity, as Trayvon would have considered George, is probably to walk that last 70 feet to your house.
I suspect - and it is only speculation - that Zimmerman was walking down the path trying to spot Martin again. Martin decided to confront him (maybe because at that point he was going to have to walk past him to get home,) asking “Why are you following me?” Zimmerman replied “What are you doing here?”
We don’t know what happened after that. But I think we can conclude that neither one told the other who he was or why he was there, and that’s the real tragedy. Two guys, both described by friends as good, friendly, decent people, neither one breaking the law, standing face to face talking.
Why the hell didn’t they just keep talking?
“My point is, the media has gone to great lengths to portray Zimmerman in as bad a light as possible, while showing Trayvon as almost angelic- to the point of posting pictures that are years old. Everyone takes as gospel Trayvon was not acting suspiciously and was only targeted because he was black. But how do we know that. Im pointing out inconsistencies that dont make sense.”

Krankor, you’ve hit the nail on the head as far as I’m concerned. Whatever happened, it was tragic. But the irritating and despicable thing is the way the media and ruling elites are trying to manipulate the “story”. Just as the Duke lacrosse case ended with the whole truth being revealed, so will it be here (or at least as much as is extant). But I’m sure Obama and his political and cultural allies want that to NOT HAPPEN until maximum political gain is achieved.
I’m amazed at some of the smaller details in their attempts to steer the story. One of the silliest was when I heard one of media types (and, no, I don’t recall who) on TV say something about Trayvon talking to his “little friend” on his cell phone. The emotion laden words “little friend” were what stuck in my mind. They were clearly trying to paint a certain picture. And who knows, including with SOME POSTERS here, they may have made an emotional connection.
As for me, in this tragedy I’m staying in “just the facts, Ma’am” mode.
UPDATED MARCH 23 ~ read your own story ~ and that’s FOX
So, he wasn't suspicious at all.
At the same time you have the killer telling a 911 dispatcher that he looked suspicious.
I really find it difficult to believe anything a fellow says when he tells the cops that a guest in the community is acting suspicious just for walking down the street.
There are some hurdles Zimmerman's story has to get over to justify the killing. Did you find them yet?
That, BTW, makes it normal to expect to find black folks in the neighborhood ~ which they happen to be.
To a degree the Far Leftwingtard argument that Zimmerman (an hispanic with black relatives) was "racially profiling' Martin was based pretty much on their mistaken understanding that this was a wealthy white neighborhood.
By now they've figured it out as well, and all that remains are the demonstrations organized by the rich white women like Sandra Fluke and her feminist agenda drones.
Will we see demands today to 'take back the night' or 'free condoms'?
Parents said they knew after they filed the missing persons report and the crime investigator along with chaplain arrived with photos of dead son within 12/13 hours
Tell me the facts of this case, as you imagine them.
Yes, the media reports repeat a lot of phrases that are meant to suggest things that are just not so.
The neighborhood is, in fact, gated. As you say, though, it is decidedly not wealthy, and the residents are majority-minority (about 20% black.) Police had been called to the neighborhood 402 times between January 2011 and the night of the shooting, and they investigated 9 burglaries, 8 thefts and one shooting during that period.
That does not change the facts of the case, bit I think it certainly would change a lot of peoples’ impressions to understand the context.
I know you'd like some conclusions, but there's this problem with the dead body.
“Was the Sandra Fluke circus an Obama diversion to get the public’s attention away from other pending issues?”
Many believe that this month old incident is being used by Obama just as he did with Fluke.
Obama and his race baiter assistants in the media are using this as just another way to divert attention from high gas prices and other pressing economic issues.
Sure it does. His intentions of why and where he went out that night affect the entire timeline not to mention the truthfulness of everyone's story.
“......We are looking at a killing ~ the victim did nothing unlawful ~ even lived where he was headed. Stories are now saying he was killed 60 feet from home.
So, he wasn’t suspicious at all.......”
*******************************************************
The “logic” of your thinking is somewhat baffling to say the least. “...he wasn’t suspicious at all...” because he was close to “home”? That line of exceptionally logical thinking (sarc) must explain why John Wayne Gacy “wasn’t suspicious” when he was at or near his home—or in his sub-basement where all those young boys were buried.
We are looking at a killing ~ the victim did nothing unlawful ~ even lived where he was headed. Stories are now saying he was killed 60 feet from home.
So, he wasn’t suspicious at all.
Was he killed 60 feet from home? It was my understanding he didn’t live there. He was visiting. Why do you keep repeating falsehoods? Last night you claimed that Zimmerman did not tell the dispatcher that he had lost sight of Martin.
Suspicious is in the eye of the beholder. Just because you don’t think Martin was behaving suspiciously doesn’t mean that Zimmerman didn’t, or shouldn’t have (you weren’t there). Zimmerman saw someone in the neighborhood that he didn’t recognize. He reported to the dispatcher that Martin was looking from house to house, looked at him, and then ran.
Easiest way in the world to remember what you have or have not posted is to NOT LIE
I don't lie so i know what i posted.
In fact, due to your accusation YOU have now become the topic of this thread.
Does everyone think I should complain about trappedincanuckistan and have Zimmerman come in here and punish him for his misstatements and prevarications?
I"M counting the hands as we speak ~ it's not looking good for you at all.
My apologies. It was someone named OztrichBoy that posted the post I attributed to you.
That's why he got away with it.
