10 reasons he is toast:
1)He now is showing a major gender gap in his female voting whereas 2-3 weeks ago in polls it was negligible. Santorum lost Catholic women in Michigan to Romney by about 15-20 points.
2)Newt Gingrich will rise again to cancel Santorum out making each other non-viable. Major conservative vote splitting will occur again allowing Romney to come up the middle.
3)My prediction (other than Washington)is that Santorum doesn't win another contest in this primary season.
4)Romney has all the momentum and too much of an advantage in money and organization and will have the nomination clinched by early April.
5)The JFK comment was on politics and religion was a huge UNFORCED ERROR and alienated a lot of Catholic voters that he probably lost forever
6)Romney is seen as way more electable than Santorum although some polls do not bear that out.
7)Many Republicans and some conservatives will never forgive him for the robocalls to Democrats in Michigan
8)Santorum is an embarrassment to the GOP establishment (calling Obama a snob). They will never allow him to win the nomination. He is now as despised by the GOP hierarchy as Sarah Palin is.
9)SNL will now lampoon him to kingdom come. Once you become an entertainment laughingstock it's game over.
10)And Rick Santorum is toast because he acts unpresidential on too many occasions. Voters are now seeing it. He doesn't think before he speaks. He doesn't believe that discretion is the better part of valor. He wades into areas where angels fear to tread.
Simply Rick Santorum is toast because he cannot avoid getting himself into hot water.
That’s the problem - people are always for free stuff, when it benefits them.
It’s wrong to force me to be paying for your contracpetion, and right now, Rick’s the only one opposed to it.
I thought Newt was supposed to be strong on pocketbook issues - apparently not.
Even Sarah Palin claimed Rick’s wife should chew him out for being a Neanderthal on women’s issues.
“The choice needs to be between Gingrich and Romney.”
Yes. Newt was temporarily confounded by Romney’s deceit, but now that he knows what he’s dealing with, he’d clobber Mittens in debate. And he’s certainly the only match for BHO. The whole world would be watching THOSE debates, and millions of voters would have their eyes opened fast to what a liar and an incompetent BHO is.
So getting married and staying married makes one a neanderthal? Yes or no?
Is it the basis for a President?
Rick could be the most pious guy on the planet, but I think he is missing this entire Chief executive thing.
Evangelicals will warm to Newt once he opens his mouth.
He is fabulous on the stump, he’s just been denied any and all financial backing to get to the stump. :)
I understand Tennessee is odd and has been stereotyped that they don’t read possibly, but if accomplishment actually means a damn thing to them, they will wake up once they get to hear Newt.
Thank you for the tri-state illustration. Newt relates to all three in real time. But for his book sales and appearances many Tennesseans likely make more than Newt.
His millions he is accused of earning went for his think tanks, while he took home $30,000. Never mind the Tiffany’s
crap. Anybody can get a credit ine there. What he actually spent has been unknown from the get-go, but for the smoke blown about it—guilt by implication. You know what I mean?
“Is it the basis for a President?”
I’m not married myself. I would like to be. I look up to the people who have gotten married and stayed married in my own life.
It gives me hope for the future that someday I can be as happy too.
Perhaps this is not so for you, but for me, yes, getting married and staying married is a big part of the appeal of a candidate.
Rick has that - Newt does not.
“Rick could be the most pious guy on the planet, but I think he is missing this entire Chief executive thing.”
Someone who is good at governing small things can be trusted with the larger duties.
The bottom line is that contraception is not a federal ussue and that Santorum just cant stop gnawing on this stuff will ignoring federal issues.
He just cant stay focused.
Hes against banker bail outs but hes for union bail outs. Fooey.
It is a federal issue now - are you unaware of the fact that Obama wants to force everyone to pay for contraception?
It’s a distraction and has nothing to do with being the Chief executive.
It has nothing to do with the Federal Gov.
When you do get Married or divorced you will wish the Gov had no hand in it.
My dad stayed married to my mom. We would not want him to be the president, bless his heart. :)
I’m aware.
Unfortunately, it is a very real issue today and a concern for everyone, due to the Obamacare mandate.
So yes, it does have something to do with the chief executive. We need a chief executive who is willing to stand up for the rights of everyone, and that includes religious people who do not want to pay for contraception.
He’s not a candidate. We’re comparing the four candidates at hand.
Last I checked the government under Obama is calling me a neanderthal for opposing gay marriage.
Do you support gay marriage?
We all pay for contraception now.
He dont like the church paying for it and I agree.
But I still think he is chasing a red herring that Obama tossed his way.
