10 reasons he is toast:
1)He now is showing a major gender gap in his female voting whereas 2-3 weeks ago in polls it was negligible. Santorum lost Catholic women in Michigan to Romney by about 15-20 points.
2)Newt Gingrich will rise again to cancel Santorum out making each other non-viable. Major conservative vote splitting will occur again allowing Romney to come up the middle.
3)My prediction (other than Washington)is that Santorum doesn't win another contest in this primary season.
4)Romney has all the momentum and too much of an advantage in money and organization and will have the nomination clinched by early April.
5)The JFK comment was on politics and religion was a huge UNFORCED ERROR and alienated a lot of Catholic voters that he probably lost forever
6)Romney is seen as way more electable than Santorum although some polls do not bear that out.
7)Many Republicans and some conservatives will never forgive him for the robocalls to Democrats in Michigan
8)Santorum is an embarrassment to the GOP establishment (calling Obama a snob). They will never allow him to win the nomination. He is now as despised by the GOP hierarchy as Sarah Palin is.
9)SNL will now lampoon him to kingdom come. Once you become an entertainment laughingstock it's game over.
10)And Rick Santorum is toast because he acts unpresidential on too many occasions. Voters are now seeing it. He doesn't think before he speaks. He doesn't believe that discretion is the better part of valor. He wades into areas where angels fear to tread.
Simply Rick Santorum is toast because he cannot avoid getting himself into hot water.
Romney got about 50% of the female Catholic vote, Santorum less than 33%.
And he lost the female vote in Michigan by 6 point whereas a week before no pollster was showing more than a 3 point gap.
One of the serious questions is will the same women that think Saint Rick is over the line, call Newt over the line based on moral views?
I am a bad judge of this sort of thing.
Right! But arguing from a point of view of freedom is the only way we will defeat these socialist, dictating fools. We need to learn to do that and educate the public. Rick can’t do it.
Newt can do it.
SNL may not elect presidents but it sure can destroy a potential president, ask Sarah Palin.
I don't know why you say that, Evangelicals are all Santorum had in Pennsylvania, it was the Catholics and women who kicked him out.
In 2006 Santorum got 42% of white Catholics, 39% of females, and 71% of white Evangelicals.
They will now go to Mitt after earlier rejecting Newt.
Santorum currently leads Romney by 9 in Ohio, and Gingrich by 20
Newt will deal with these lefty games very effectively. He really knows what he is doing.
I sure hope so. Even when you agree with him, he’s hard to like as a public figure. I still remember his quote about needing the government more involved in the bedroom. He’s toxic from an electoral standpoint.
Like I said, I am stupid as to how the masses will vote on this stuff.
I will say this.
I think Rick diverted the public attention from the main electoral concerns in this election to his moral issues, and I think it his screwed up this election in a big way.
Obama’s supporters aren’t going to vote for him.
He has painted himself into a political corner IMHO.
He can’t win a general election IMHO.
We shall see.
I honestly don’t know who made Santorum the Conservative Pope.
Bachmann wore the church on her arm, Perry too.
Newt has testified.
Romneys some sort of Mormon Bishop.
Is this what the election is about?
You are assuming that voters will be receptive to talk of freedom.
“ Give me Liberty, or Give me Death!” (Patrick Henry March 23, 1775)
“Give me Birth Control, or Give me Death!” (Sandra Fluke Georgetown law student to congress 2/27/2012)
That lead will be gone just like that.
It’s like a football team losing its first string QB for the season.
Major implosion.
Fortunately, that law school shill is not representative of “voters.”
She has the freedom to have as much sex as pleases her but she also has the responsibility to pay for it and be free to get an employer and plan that pays for it if that is what she wants. We don’t need the government mandating this one size fits all insurance coverage or care.
People will get that. Also, how is this supposed to solve the problem of people losing health insurance when between jobs as was supposed to be whole purpose of Obama’s take over of our health care system?
That ‘swooning’ you talk about is women fainting from disbelief that Santorum is such a Neanderthal.
Man’s been written off before - hasn’t worked out that way, has it?
Santorums’ the neanderthal? He’s stayed with his wife.
I’m not sure how getting married and staying married makes one a neanderthal.
