As I readied myself for what promised to be a bombshell of a hearing on February 2nd, I thought Attorney General Eric Holder would have his toughest test yet. He would now be in front of the committee that Darrell Issa chairs - the House Oversight Committee. In every Fast and Furious hearing Issa had been involved in, he stood out as the top bulldog, the fieriest and most knowledgable about the case. On February 2nd, he had the gavel and much more evidence with which to go directly at Holder.
As I watched the hearing, I was struck by how tame Issa was compared to previous hearings. There were congressmen on the committee who went at Holder hard - Gowdy, Meehan, Buerkle, and Labrador to name a few - but Issa was conspicuously soft. I thought, "Why?" This was the guy who had all of the goods, collectively. He could have personally delivered a mortal blow to Holder's tenure; he might have even exposed a White House connection. Instead, he seemed to put his gloves down.

Maybe we need to refocus on defeating Obama, not the opposing party...then clean up the other messes.
Between this, Romney being rammed down our throats, and the Georgia judge being obviously strong-armed into a bogus decision, we have no choice but to for a true conservative, America-first political party. As if we didn’t know it already, the Republicans are co-conspirators with the Democrats.
Couldn’t disagree more. Appears this writer didn’t watch the same hearings I did. As far as sources “drying up”... ? Maybe putting some names to that instead of him copying someone else’s anonymous claim.

I really believe this. Some politicians will dare to go close to the flame to expose bombshell news, but if they get too close - they will back off because of the threats. I also believe this is a long standing ritual that has had a chilling outcome on our governance.
I've mentioned this before on FR, but someone high-up in the GOP in Texas that knew and had a conversation with Kay Bailey Hutchinson several months after she was sworn in as one of our Senators, had a 'light bulb' moment during their conversation. When asked about how she was getting along in Washington in her new role, she became visibly upset and could hardly carry on a conversation. Her friend never forgot that moment and knew that something was very wrong.
I've heard Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity elude to threats they've received as media personnel. None of them will expound on the details and I've often thought that was strange. I do believe there are mafia types that boldly threaten politicians and big media personalities and it is very real. And in case you are wondering, I really don't wear a tin-foil hat!
Did you hear Charles Krauthammer’s remarks yesterday on Fox Allstars? When asked about Holder’s stonewalling the demands to turn over the e-mails/documents, the Kraut simply said BIG MISTAKE!
Perhaps you should take a look at Vanderboegh’s track record before making that claim.
No, not at all. I want his ass in a sling and over a fire more than anyone. But to denigrate our side now and into the fall is a circular firing squad. This will kill us in Nov. I cannot live with another term of Obama. Give Issa a break. And Boehner too (as much as I dislike him)
Anyone in DC who is foolhardy enough to threaten the entrenched system is ‘gently’ informed that the best course of action is to go along with the program.....or else.

There are people willing to slit your throat over $100. Why should it be surprising that things are different when there are $trillions on the line?
If we create a third party for conservatives, and that party by some miracle supplants the Republicans and takes over DC, they will be subject to the exact same threats and pressures. The power of DC is like the One Ring in "Lord of the Rings". It's foolish to think that it can be controlled for Good. It must be destroyed. There is no solution that does not involve cutting the federal government by 90% at least.
I agree with you and nor do I wear tinfoil. The power elite (organized crime and the world’s very wealthy) run this country by offering the DC politicians either silver or led. It’s been that way for decades and was clearly demonstrated when they took out JFK. They truly are above the law. Laws, IRS and federal law enforcement agencies exist only to control the common citizen.
