If Romney wins Tuesday and garners the nomination, should the Tea Party field a candidate?

It's looking more and more like the RINO, country club, elitist attacks on Newt Gingrich are having their intended effect and that Mitt Romney will win in Florida and possibly take the Republican nomination. I don't know about you, but I'm up to **here** with the "lesser of two evils" nonsense and I very much doubt that Mitt will choose Sarah Palin or someone like her as his VP.

What to do, then? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

You’re right, wardaddy.
This is about money, like it or not.
And Mittens has it.

Pray that God guides Newt’s words and actions over the coming days...

I’m going to concentrate on state races too, Thunder.

I live in Wisconsin and our principled Governor is under assault and needs our help.

This is where I can be most useful for now.

“Try to make pissed off conservatives irrelevant with your blah blah. How’d that McCain nomination work out for you?”

It worked well. Maybe you didn’t read my post correctly (snicker)

Whoever wins FL in the general elections wins the presidency. No one in their right mind believes that a Republican nominee who loses FL in the primary will be able to win FL in the general. It won’t happen. This is why FL is key to the eventual Republican nominee. Gingrich’s performance in the Jacksonville debate was not close to how he fared in S. Carolina. His rhetoric has the potential for self-destruct. He is losing the farm among female votes, the whole lunar colony thing will be the butt of SNL, and it is likely to alienate Tea Party voters. It unfortunately adds to the perception of him that Romney is carefully crafting as being “erratic” and “unstable.” The big trump card in FL is Rubio, and Romney had the luck to ensnare him. In truth, if Gingrich does not pull off a win in FL, we are in a real mess.

My parents, their relatives and many of their friends voted for George Wallace in that election, as I recall.

I was pretty sure that’s what you were saying. How things have changed: Hubert Humphrey looks like a staunch conservative compared to today’s Democrats!!

I would give very long odds, that no matter the GOP nominee, Obama is going to win.

The truth matters not a damn, the sheeple will vote as per the comedy shows dictate and for who ever the 6’oclock news text readers tell them to.

CHRISTIAN & JEWISH PING LISTS PLEASE COPY.
I actually read the document you posted about the Orrin Hatch brokered agreement with the UJA & the Mormons to stop baptizing dead Jews who perished in the holocaust.
Total double-talk! The Mormons will keep up the practice if baptizing dead people by proxy, the ancestors of American citizens. The Mormon Genealogy scam needs to be exposed, and more religious leaders need to speak out against it.

Death by gunshot or death by poison, the result is the same.
It’s time for someone to articulate a big picture vision for conservatism

I've heard, read, and watched that comment many times; "the lesser of two evils." Truth be told, over my time here in the US and on this earth, I have, in fact, exercised it frequently!

Do I tire of it?? Sure! In all my years of voting, I have voted FOR three individuals:
Ronald Reagan,
G. Bush I, and
G. Bush II.

At all other times, I was forced to "vote" AGAINST a given individual. My vote against didn't always work (eg: little billy clintoon and the stain), but it made me feel better.

As I've been seeing, hearing, and reading the phrase "lesser of two evils" a lot recently, I've tried to think back to what made me feel good about "voting" AGAINST vs. for a given candidate.

It comes down to this: what is the degree of "lesser"??

For example: a terrorist attack that kills six and wounds 14 others, or a terrorist attack that kills over 3,000 people and damages a leading world economy for over 11 years and results in governmental controls such as TSA and Homeland Security??

Was I forced to choose one or the other - I think I'd have had to go with the 6 killed and 14 wounded. Would either choice make me ill? Surely - both would. But the latter incident would also have horrified me in a way that was something akin to the horror our Dads felt immediately after Pearl Harbor!

Another example: A Fidel Castro vs a Hitler. Again, both evil, but if I'm forced to choose, and can see clearly the magnitude of evil of both choices, then this particular choice is easy. Yes, both are harmful! But I can stomach Castro; probably stick his skinny butt on an Island somewhere! But a Hitler?? No way! That one had to be killed; ruined the economies in many counties, killed multi-millions of people and contributed to the creation of the current middle east situation - among others.

What we have on our hands this time is another one of those choices!

Yes! It IS the lesser of two evils. But the evil on the left is so huge, so all encompassing, so manifestly malignant, so grossly malevolent, that the choice to be made is crystal clear.

We must - repeat MUST - choose the "lesser of two evils" this time around - regardless of who the rinos finally run. Simply because the orders of magnitude between the evil on the right and the grotesque evil on the left are staggering. We must rid ourselves of the thing, the stain, on the left. Now! This instant!

Else, we agree that in a pique of self-satisfaction or disgust, we chose to "stay home" and therefore condoned the continuation of the grossest evil ever to happen to this country! Ever!

Given this choice - and we have been - we know what we must do. For to do nothing is to perpetuate what will become the terminal disease that will kill this nation. We simply cannot let that happen. We CAN'T!

"Santorum has to get out or he’s giving it to Romney.. and he can forget EVER trying to run again if he causes Romney to be the nominee."

Exactly.
