The Shadow War: Assassination of GUn Rights
Truth About Bills ^ | 01/05/2012 | Mark Mayberry

In the early hours of the New Year Oklahoma City dispatch received an emergency call from a scared eighteen-year-old mother who was barricaded in her house. Sarah McKinley, while on the phone with 9-1-1, asked permission to shoot the men attempting to enter her home. Moments later one man entered her home and was fatally shot.

The man was armed with a twelve inch hunting knife. His accomplice was later captured and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his cohort.

Around the same time Benjamin Colton Barnes shot four people at a New Years Eve party after an argument. A short time later he ran a checkpoint in Mount Rainier State Park. A park ranger stopped him just after ten A.M. on January first. He exited his vehicle and fired several rounds ambushing the park ranger and killed her.

Ranger Margaret Anderson was a thirty-four year old mother of two. She was killed instantly and never exited the vehicle. The suspect fled into the wilderness of Mount Rainier and later was found dead in the state park after succumbing to hypothermia and drowning in a creek.

Both of these shooting incidents are in stark contrast of each other, however I must say one justifies the other. The fact of the matter is the United States has become a dangerous place with a lot of violent criminals. No longer can people stand by and expect the police to protect them all the time.

The reality is that it takes time for the police to arrive and sometimes those precious minutes are the difference between life and death. Young Sarah McKinley proved this just a few days ago. Who knows what the two suspects would have done to her and her young child.

In all of this the Obama Administration has remained silent or so it appears. The fact is President Obama has decided to invade the second amendment fortress through the back door. It is no secret that Obama is extremely left wing and this also extends to his views on gun control.

Just this past week the President has decided to ignore parts of the 2012 Omnibus Spending Bills. He included a signing statement with the bill he signed into law. Within this statement President Obama declared that the congress has no power to dictate how he spent money to fund anti-gun lobbying.

That’s right the Obama Administration is funding to lobby the government. How exactly does the government lobby itself, President Obama?

The Obama Administration, thank God, has suffered many failures and set backs on the issue of gun control. The most recent example of the Obama Administration’s undercover attack on the second amendment is the now infamous Fast and Furious scandal. The Administration used the operation as a catalyst to start the debate for tighter gun regulations.

The Obama Administration is also in favor of the United Nations Arms Treaty. This treaty would severely restrict American’s gun rights and make us all subject to the United Nations.

The only real legislation that was passed by Barack Obama was banning the importation of semi-automatic rifles of a historic value. How come we never heard about that? So much for a transparent government I guess.

Another interesting fact is that Obama appointed Caitlin Joan Halligan to the U.S. Court of Appeals. She is a huge anti-gun personality and even sued several gun makers and has asserted that gun manufacturers should be liable for what their customers choose to do with them.

When you put all of this together with the cost of ammunition mysteriously skyrocketing and the cost of a concealed weapons permit you can tell that the Obama Administration is waging a shadow war against the second amendment.

I personally am a proud gun owner and will continue to lawfully exercise my second amendment rights. I would also advise you to do the same.

In the movie The Patriot there is a particularly relevant quote. A member of clergy is joining the militia to fight the British and as he is leaving one of his parishioners seems to be shocked that he is going to fight. He replies, “A shepherd must tend his flock. And at times... fight off the wolves.” We have a responsibility to protect our families but in our current society people are trying to force you to believe that if you purchase and use a gun in your own defense you are somehow an evil person. Don’t let them dissuade you from protecting yourself and your family.

In closing I just want to redirect your attention back to the story of Sarah. Her and her son will be alive to spend another Christmas together because she had the presence of mind to arm herself and was prepared to use it when and if the time came. There is no greater proof that I can find. There are people out there who are predators and prey on the weak among us. Don’t be one of those people.

There needs to be a great list of unconstitutional things Obama has done, for the specific purpose of questioning the Republican nominees. It can even be done in writing, from a source the nominees would not dare to ignore.

That is, ask them out front:

Will you REVERSE those policies Obama made that are unconstitutional? And then name a dozen such policies.

Will you SUBMIT TO CONGRESS a list of unconstitutional acts that presidents have engaged in, asking them to outlaw them, and that when they do, you will sign that into law?

1) Outlaw the very unconstitutional “presidential signing statement”?

2) Request a much more potent “presidential war powers act”, that limits what the president can do with the US military without congressional approval?

3) Strip the presidency of the ability to detain *US citizens* without arrest, indictment, trial, and conviction?

4) Restore the 4th and 5th Amendments to the constitution, taking from the president the authority to evade them for pragmatic reasons?

5) Pass a law that legalizes the use of “justifiable profiling” of potential threats, as determined by the judiciary.

6) Will you agree to dismiss all government employees and others in the government who have participated in or promulgated unconstitutional acts, with a permanent ban on their ever working for the government again?
