The problem with miracles and faith is that the whole system is based on circular logic. People believe that certain men spoke with God's authority because they performed miracles. How do you know they really performed miracles? It says so in the Bible, which contains testimonies of their friends. How do you know the Bible is true? Well, you have to believe in it first, then you can see the truth. Uh huh.

The fact that humans have a) imagination, and b) a tendency to lie should be enough to alert anyone about swallowing a whole world view that then requires you to suppress your doubts and obey strangers.

Do you really have to offer something so jejune? It's like you copied and pasted it from the skeptics web ring from 1997. Is something like this all it takes for you to say, "Well, did away with that! Now I can relax comfortably"?

Wow, all your big words just kind of disappear when someone points out something so simple, eh? The logic is circular, you cannot deny it. Without miracles, the Virgin Birth, and the Resurrection, Jesus is just another one of those people whose stories even YOU discount. Like Mohammed. Like David Koresh. Like any of hundreds of people who have stepped up to say "There is a God and He wants you do listen to ME."

Nothing he said in the New Testament was particularly original or profound. Most of what he said was simply that the Jewish people should return to the covenant. The only thing that makes him different is the supernatural element. Problem is, the only place you find that is the Bible. So you believe the Bible because it tells you about God and you believe in God because it says to in the Bible. Circular.
